Prayer Meeting

To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Summer Prayer Meetings Start Tonight!  One of the highlights of the summer is the opportunity to gather and pray together.  Tuesday nights from 7-8 we will gather together and seek God's face in prayer, thanksgiving and petition.  Most of our time will be spent in prayer and this summer the elders will be walking us through Jesus teaching to His disciples on how to pray.  All are welcome, and we look forward to getting to know God better and being a part of His plan in seeking His will and power through prayer.

Baptism:  This Sunday we are having a baptismal service, if you have questions about baptism, or would like to obey Jesus by being baptized by immersion as a believer please contact one of your elders or pastors and we would joyfully help you take this next step in your spiritual journey.  Jesus has commanded all those who know Him to be baptized, and it is always a joy to see this worked out in the life of His children!

Missions Luncheon: This Sunday the missions committee invites you to lunch, a time of fellowship, and also to hear an update from Niederhausers, who are on home leave from their service with Helimission in Madagascar.  Come and learn, rejoice and commit to more effective prayer for this family.

Canada day has come and gone and it is good to praise God for this country.  Enjoyed Sunday, and the gathering of our families to enjoy great food and fun children's activities!  Thank you to all who worked to make this day special and help us to gather and get to know one another better.  I feel a definite loyalty to Canada (and Israel), and love that we can worship in freedom in this great nation (Oh that God would keep us glorious and free).

Today is July 4, not as special as July 1 for us Canadians, but happy independence day for our American brothers and sisters.  I am deeply appreciative of our Christian family that is from the States, and their effective leadership in helping us stay close to God and His Word.  Take time today to pray for Canada, and the USA, and to remind ourselves that we are citizens of heaven, even as we rejoice in being a part of great countries here!

Don't forget our memory verse for this month as you seek to become more and more Word saturated...John 17:15, 17

This summer our series has been on being IN THE WORLD BUT NOT OF THE WORLD.  This is not easy, as we tend to be drawn to one of two partly biblical extremes, pulling out of the world, or living like the world.

We have laid the foundation, that God wants us to be people who don't tamper with His Word, and that effectively live our lives looking for the good works He has prepared in advance for us to do.

Coming this Sunday we will start to get a little more specific, although the answer to worldly problems will always include loyalty to God's Word and Mission when answered biblically.

Title:  In The World By Not Of The World:  Relativism:

Text:  John 14:1-6

Why do you think that the demonic realm has made war on truth?

Why is it essential as Biblical Christians that we believe in absolute truth?

How can we defend our own hearts against the onslaught of relativistic idealism?

How can we best share the Gospel with people who are  philosophically relativistic?

How can we reach out with the Absolute truth of the GOSPEL in a world that does not believe in absolute truth?

How can we defend the truth among evangelicals that are moving towards being relativistic?

Have a great week!

Looking forward to Sunday, and the opportunity to worship and learn together!
