Each One Reach One

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It is a joy to serve with you!  I am so thankful for a church leadership team, and congregation that longs for becoming more and more a culture of outreach.  I keep hearing stories of how we are growing in this, and praise God as people use dog walking, starbucks coffee, hockey, and so many other things to effectively make God's appeal on His behalf.  Thank you for seeking to live your life for God's glory and display the beauty of His Gospel to all who will listen.  God is at work...KEEP IT UP!

Pastor Thomas reported back from our Youth Retreat..."For the third straight year we went to Camp Charis in Chilliwack.  We had our largest retreat ever and God provided for a great weekend together.  We saw encouraging spiritual growth, conversion, and an atmosphere of fun.  We are already looking forward to next year.  Thank you for praying for us"  Thanks Pastor Thomas, we praise God you are on our team!

We are working toward constant growth in our desire to be a CULTURE OF EVANGELISM!

To become a culture of evangelism, four things are essential:

1.  We realize it's importance:  We need to learn to see in 4D.  To grasp the incredible importance of the Gospel, and our response to it for impacting where we will spend eternity.  Heaven and hell are real, and a human's response to the Gospel of Jesus determines where they will spend eternity.  If we could begin to grasp the gravity of eternity, and the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, or priority list would always have this cultural pursuit near the top.  The principle of multiplication is also overwhelming!

2.  We realize our role:  So often in churches evangelism is relegated to a program.  Programs can be good, but it is God's people that are His tool for making His appeal.  In other words at CBC, any program we have is a vehicle for you as God's people here to use to reach people.  PROGRAMS don't reach people, God's PEOPLE do.

3.  We experience the Gospel:  There is a content to be known (Galatians 1:8-10), but as important a reality to be experienced (2 Corinthians 5:14).  If you have experienced the Gospel richly you can't wait to share it with others!  Pray that you would know God's love more richly (Ephesians 3:14-21).

4.  We grasp His power:  God has chosen to use weak people to accomplish His work (Ephesians 2:10).  This means our confidence in in Him, and we boast all the more in our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:10).  He has a pathway for us, and we are called to walk in it, in His strength for His glory (Ephesians 2:10).

This is both in terms of the Holy Spirit filling us, and preparing people for the work He has for them, as well as the Gospel itself which is the POWER OF GOD.

This week God used our church to change eternity as people trusted in Him.  Praise God, celebrate His grace, and keep using every opportunity to draw people to Him.

May we grow in this as we walk in the power of His Spirit!

Prayer:  We are seeing the priority of prayer surfaced in our programming, and encourage you not only to have a passion for prayer, but to join us in praying, Sunday mornings behind the stage at 10:00, and Wednesday mornings at 7:00 am in the library.  What a joy to depend on God actively together!

Easter:  This is an amazing opportunity for inviting friends to our church, and allowing them to hear the Gospel and experience the love that flows so richly at Cloverdale Baptist.  Please start praying now for who God wants you to invite, and look for opportunities to engage the people God puts in your sphere of influence for His glory.  We will be having a pancake breakfast, so watch and wait, and I can't wait :)

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Creating A Culture Of Outreach:  An Authentic Follower Of Jesus

Text:  Luke 14:25-15:7

Why do you think that Jesus demands total loyalty?

Why is it right to love Him so much that in comparison to all others, you hate them?

When you see these stories in God's Word, how do they help you see the importance of loving the lost, and rejoicing when they find Jesus?

When was the last time you experienced this kind of Joy!

I am honoured to serve you, and be used by God to make His appeal through me,

Pastor Rob
