Happy Women's Day

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Today is the celebration of International Women's Day, a day where all around the world people seek to take the steps needed to take to value women.  For us as Christians this is a day where we are heartbroken over the way society has devalued women, and where we want to call for the valuing of women the way that God has revealed in His Word.  Women and men are created in the image of God and as image bearers, equal in value, dignity and worth.  We rejoice that God has made us to complete one another, complement one another, to serve together in joy.  We  have different roles, and are different, physically, emotionally and spiritually and we want to be a church that rejoices in those differences as we seek to be a place where all people of all ages can flourish and be all that God wants them to be.  As the world devalues women, we want to grow more and more into being a place that chooses God's best with joy together for His glory!

We want to be a church where women at CBC always feel safe and are protected.  In the #metoo world we want to be so far beyond anywhere in the world,  a place where women know that they will be safe emotionally, physically and spiritually.  The movement falls so short of the value God truly gives women, and we want to be those who honour God and today declare our desire of protecting and honouring women, as a church.

Today is the celebration of International Women's day, and although the world is missing out on God's best in so many ways, on this we can agree, God values women and has called for us to do the same.  We will seek to do it  His way for His glory.  Praise God for His Word that shows us how best to do this!

Sunday we start to prepare our hearts for Easter, as well as set into action our feet for the plans we have.

We want to be a church where EACH ONE REACHES ONE, and to do this we need every person praying, and pursuing this with us.  This means YOU!  So, please be prayerfully considering who to invite to our pancake breakfast.  Please join us and look for people you can talk to and share the love we have as a church family with.  Please invite five people (if you are good at this make it 10 to cover the people who will only invite 2), and pray pray pray that God would use us to change eternity!

REMEMBER as Sunday comes...TIME CHANGES!  Set your alarms, after you have changed your clock and SPRING FORWARD into the joy of a great service!

We are seeking to be a church that loves and prefers one another and we need your help in this!  When it comes to music, sometimes we have preferences in sound and song selection that may come in conflict with others, or may be different than what we think is happening.  I welcome your emails and phone calls for giving your preferences in love, but PLEASE DO NOT TALK TO OUR VOLUNTEERS unless you are blessing them and thanking them for all of the work they are putting in!  We long to be a church where every word and action obeys God's Word (EPHESIANS 4:29), and in that please express negative, or preferences that are not being met only to me, or one of your elders.

Sunday Is Coming:  BRING YOUR BOOK

Luke 23:34

Father Forgive Them For They Know Not What They Do:

Why do you think that it is so hard sometimes for us as humans to forgive?

What do Jesus words teach us about forgiveness?

Why do you think He prayed this prayer on the cross?

How does an experience of God's love help us to forgive others.

Easter is so exciting in our celebration.  Was reflecting this week on Jesus words in the Garden of Gethsemane, and overwhelmed at God's love for us!  Amazing love, overwhelming love, and a love that when experienced will change everything about us!  I pray we would experience His LOVE today and this season and every day for the rest of our lives, for in this we will discover first love, radical devotion!
