Don't Waste the Season

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

We are into one of the most important seasons of the year for us as a church family!  In fact from a Biblical view, the celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord changes everything else, and if we live in light of is transformative!  It is also an amazing opportunity for us to share our faith with others whose interest is often piqued at this time of year.  It is a great opportunity for us to renew our first love devotion to God together.

As we enter this season I would encourage you to:

1.  Be in prayer!  Start in thanksgiving for what God has done for you, and let that motivate you to rejoice in your freedom in Christ.  Pray for those who God would have you invite our service opportunities.

  • Pray for our Praise and Prayer Night on Sunday night.
  • Pray for our pancake breakfast.
  • Pray for our Resurrection Sunday service
  • Pray for the people who only come to church once a year
  • Pray for me, that God would fill me with His Spirit and produce fruit through our church ministries and especially preaching God's Word.

2.  Invite:  If every one of us invites at least one other person to our pancake breakfast, whether they come or not we will have been a huge success!

3.Love:  Come to what we are doing and take the time notice people you don't know and greet them with the love of Jesus!  If each of us seeks out three people a Sunday we will be the friendliest church in the lower mainland...okay, not a competition other than Romans 12:10.

It is good to be a part of the family of God and this season we are praying that God would use us to shape eternity...what a privilege!  JOIN US!

We have a baptism this Sunday, what a joy to hear how God is at work in us and through us.  If you have not been baptized as a believer yet, talk to one of your pastors, and we will rejoice in His grace together!

Someone shared with me how much they appreciated being able to watch the service when they are sick (they were sick last Sunday).  They loved it, however she went on to say how much she missed the singing all around her!  She loved listening to Pastor Les and the team on the computer, but how much richer when it was all around her.  A great reminder for me of the blessing of corporate worship and Pastor Les is seeking to help us to engage and be a part of.  What an encouragement to know that our voices together are such an encouragement (perhaps the exception being anyone sitting in front of me).

Robyn and Hannah were sharing that 100% of their kids at kids connect brought their Bible's last Sunday.  It was fun to hear how they encourage one another and celebrate having God's Word with them.  Well done kids!

Sunday is coming:

Bring your Bible :)

Sermon:  I AM: The Vine
Text:  John 15:1-17

This is one of the most important passages on basic discipleship!

We learned last Sunday how we are to be those who remain, or abide, and that this is a command and we are to choose to do it.

This Sunday we are going to study what happens to us when we abide.  This reality of who Jesus is teaches us how to relate to Him, and live for His glory in joy.

Read through this passage, and pray that God would prepare your hearts and minds to receive from Him through the preaching of His Word!

Privileged to REMAIN IN THE VINE with you,

Pastor Rob
