Summer is Coming

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Summer is almost here...a time of rest, sun and relaxation.  I love summer, and the change of pace that it brings, and opportunity to do things that have been put to the side for a little while.  This summer, enjoy the sunshine, the rest, and a renewed pursuit of intimacy with God and His people.  Use the change of routine to introduce something new into your life, and enjoy golf, the ocean, and the kids out of school!  Summer is almost here!

Remember to pray for our Kids Camp, and sign up to volunteer or bring your children and their friends if you haven't already!  This is a great opportunity to serve in the 4-14 window, and our passion to grow deeper in intimacy with Jesus and wider in impact is pursued by serving and sharing.  This is always a highlight of our year as families are impacted, and children grow, and some, trust in Jesus for the first time.

Baptism:  We have a baptism service on June 23, if you are someone who believes the Gospel and has not been baptized as a believer by immersion, please talk with one of your pastors and we will seek to help you obey Jesus in this area!  Always a highlight, don't miss it!

Our year end is on the last day of August.  We are falling a little behind in our giving pattern, even as we grow, so would be great if each of us can take a look at where we are giving, and if we are waiting for encouragement to give, if so, we will be blessed if you would prayerfully consider helping our giving pattern to improve.  Financially we are doing okay, but the trend is a little concerning, and we are looking to up our investment in ministry as we seek God's glory together.

Father's Day is coming.  I am blessed to have a dad who loved us and mom, and chose to follow Jesus with us in tow.  He has modelled to me what authentic Christian fatherhood looks like and I praise God for him.  Take the time this week, and especially Sunday to thank your dad for his impact on your life!  Sometimes a day like this gives us the opportunity to be thankful and encourage dads!

Keystone Habits:  Hoping that each person who reads this has taken the time to think through the four keystone habits for spiritual growth and start to put them in place in their lives.  These are essential for general spiritual health and their impact is huge on every other area of your life.  Word Saturation, Prayer Passion, Gospel Centred, Committed To The Local Church...

Missions Focus:  Take the time this week to think through people who are serving us on the mission field and pray for them!  Our prayers matter in joining them in their struggle by praying for them.

Seniors:  Our seniors are on a retreat, pray for them, for Pastor Ray and Herb Neufeld in delivering their devotions, and for overall joy and impact spiritually.  It is a joy to have this wealth of spiritual maturity in our church family and we long for them to grow wider in impact and deeper in intimacy.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  A Father's Heart

Text:  3 John

  • Why is celebrating fathers a good thing?
  • How can you encourage your own father today?
  • What gives godly dads their greatest joy, and how can you make sure if you are a dad that this is your focus?

Have a great week serving Jesus, and rejoice and rest in His love for you as you enter summer!
