To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
What a joy to be able to be in the congregation for a few Sunday's and relax and worship. It is a privilege to belong to our family, and I praise God for you all! I am thankful for the joy of singing, the power of the Word, and the love of God's people. They say that you can test the heart of a follower of God by His feelings for Jesus bride, and if that is the case, my heart is His.
As we continue to grow larger (sometimes not as quickly as I would like) we also want to grow smaller (sometimes slower than I would like). What we mean by this is that we want to be a congregation that displays the love of God when we are together and the encouragement that comes from a small group when we are not. Be sure to sign up for a Growth Group now, as you think about what changes you want to make next fall. It is coming quickly, and I would love to see all of God's people who worship with us at CBC with the advantage of growing closer to God through a small group! They say that 50% of church growth in the modern era comes from the friendliness of the church. Please help us in this on the surface, Sunday mornings, and even more importantly beyond in growing deeper together.
Prayer Meetings: Remember the importance of corporate prayer, and join us in our active dependence on God over the summer in our Elder elder led prayer meetings. All are welcome, and we would love for more and more of our people to gain a passion for corporate prayer and join us! Tuesday, 7-8...
Please join me in praying for Christophe and Sybille in Madagascar. Pray for the family as they mourn the loss of Sybille's father. Pray also for Helimission and the trips they take to many of the villages around them. Please also continue to pray for our church family and the elders and deacons that have the privilege of serving God by serving you.
Movie: Perhaps the best book ever written outside of God's Word is a book written by an uneducated baptist preacher from jail. We are hosting a Pilgrims Progress movie night and I would strongly recommend this as an event for all ages. You should also read the book, and there are many options out there to engage your mind and heart, but the movie is a good first step, or perhaps something to enjoy along the reading pathway. Join us for a night of fun, food, fellowship and a fantastic experience as we follow Christian on his faith journey. Friday, August 23: 6:00 PM
