Dear Brothers and Sisters at Cloverdale Baptist Church,
We are in exciting times as a church as we seek to do God's work, in God's strength for God's glory (1 Peter 4:11). John records, in chapter 17 of his gospel, that Jesus prayed that we would be brought to complete unity—“I in them and you in me”. What does it mean to be one with Christ? Not just to have a few common interests, but rather that we are so completely aligned that His will is our purpose and that the desires of our hearts come from him alone. It means that we, as a church, should be identifiable because our DNA matches His.
It is our desire as the leadership team of Cloverdale Baptist Church to help our church set out the DNA of who we believe that God wants us to be as a church family. This is equally important to new members and adherents as it is to those for whom CBC has been their home as long as they can remember. If you call this church “home”, we are inviting you to make coming to church in January a high priority and to be involved in a small group of people (families, growth groups, etc.) that can help you apply the message of God's Word so that Cloverdale Baptist Church will be more and more what God wants it to be. Throughout January, Pastor Rob will be addressing this from the pulpit on Sundays and growth groups will be digging deeper as they review the material in small groups. Study notes will be available online at www.cloverdalebaptistchurch.ca under “The Heart of the Matter”. Take the opportunity to come, to listen, to study and to ask questions.
Together, we can accomplish things in God's strength that will be way beyond our potential - immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us
(Eph 3:20.)
