Who We Are
Jesus calls us to be a people marked by love,
“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:25)
That’s why here at Cloverdale Baptist Church we love our Growth Groups. God has called us to live in community. So for us to be a people marked by love, we need to be together.
- In our Growth Groups we spend time in fellowship with one another. We want to be invested in one another’s lives and seek to care for one another. We see each other at church and outside of Bible study. It’s not just a program, it’s a community.
- We also spend time studying the Word of God. The most important thing we can do with one is spend time getting to know our Bibles. A wise man once said, “A Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.” We desire to be people who know and love their Bibles.
- As well we spend time praying for one another. We cannot work out our faith without God working in us. We rely on prayer like we rely on oxygen. We want to both lift up those in our group, but also the needs and concerns of those around us.
- Finally we want to encourage and spur one another on to share the faith. We are not meant to keep the good news hidden, but to share it with those we come into contact with.
This is why Growth Groups are so important; we need to be growing in our faith, and we cannot do that alone.
“There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” – Ephesians 4:16
