Worship Internship

Overview

The Worship Internship program is a paid developmental program that will focus on leadership development in worship services, spiritual and theological discipleship, and pertinent musical skill development.

It is a 10 hr/wk. role that will run for 40 weeks from September through May.

It will focus on learning and developing a wide variety of worship ministry-related skills, including service planning, service and rehearsal leadership, and relevant technical ministries which allow Sunday services to function smoothly, both in-house and online. The intern will have the chance to serve the main church on Sundays, and to help with occasional mid-week ministries, such as youth or young adults.

Experience

Applicants should have experience in leading worship services and teams, have a desire to develop their theological understanding of worship, and be discerned and recommended in this ministry by their home church. Interns at Cloverdale Baptist Church will be required to become Associate Members of the church, in full agreement with its confession of faith and leadership structures.

Beyond practical application, leadership development will consist of weekly meetings and discussions with the Worship Director, working through a series of book discussions to help ground them in worship theology and ecclesiology.

Goal

The goal of the internship is to give those who feel called to either lay or vocational worship ministry a chance to be mentored and to better understand the flow of weekly ministry.
