A Season To Give

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

What makes the Christmas spirit, a giving spirit? Watching the news today in the cold spell of Cloverdale, and they were sharing news about the Christmas wish foundation, and how much people are giving to help out families in need. Always encouraging to see giving in our culture, and church. What brings this about? I am not sure for our culture, but hope an overflow of the greatest gift ever given, in Jesus. One of the joys of Christmas is the reminder to be generous in our giving. Encourage you to find creative ways to bless others in Jesus name as you continue to get ready to celebrate Jesus birth. We still have ways you can do this through our church family, so if you want to be a part of our hamper blitz please contact Pastor Thomas, and help us continue to be a beacon of light to those in need. This is a great way to help those in need in a tangible way, through our church. We are also involved in helping those impacted by the fire in Langley, and looking for ways to show the love of Jesus in our community more and more effectively.

As you consider New Years resolutions for this year, one that we try to help you make is to spend more time in your Bible this year. Join us as a church family in our BIBLE READ, for 2017. Some of you have never read the Bible cover to cover, and although depth in reading is great, so is breadth. If you struggle reading you can listen to it on your phone. Take the time this year to grow in your application of letting the Word of Christ dwell in you richly...

Please PRAY! We continue to believe that the only way we will see the church built is through active dependence on God, and joy filled hard work together. Please as you find places to actively serve the bride of Jesus with us, would you also continue to increase your praise and prayer life. We long for our family to be marked by ACTIVE DEPENDENCE... please pray for what is happening around the world, in Syria; Egypt; Turkey and Nigeria as you pray for those closest to you and our church family.

Remember:

Christmas Eve Service Is At 6:00
Sunday, Christams Day Service Is At 10:30
Christmas is one of the key opportunities in the year to share with others the richness of what it means to experience the love of Jesus. May you be encouraged this year to look for the opportunities that God brings your way and may you bear fruit for His glory as you show how great He is with your life and lips! Your testimony, shared in gentleness could be the tool God uses this year to soften hard hearts, and guide people into His flock.

Getting Ready For Sunday:

Title: Don't Miss Christmas: NO SURRENDER

Text: Matthew 2:1-23

Prepare by reading the text, asking God to open your heart ot what he would have you learn, and getting a good sleep. The better prepared you are, the better preacher I will be :)

Here are some questions that will help prepare your heart for the Word of God...as you reflect on the text.

Why do you think it is so easy sometimes to lose sight of the REASON FOR THE SEASON and miss Christmas?

What did Herod believe rightly about Jesus?

Why do you think that Herod did what he did?

How did Herod's rejection of Jesus Kingship hurt those around him?

How does our rejection of Jesus Kingship hurt those around us?

Why do you think people choose not to surrender to Jesus in our world today?

How do you struggle with this?

Have a wonderful week, STAY WARM!

His Servant, for your JOY
