Welcome Pastor Ray & Robyn

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It has been a good week.  To celebrate the ministry of our people over the past year, and look forward to another great year in "always abounding in the work of the LORD" is a tremendous privilege (AGM).  Our unity in calling Pastor Ray and Robyn to our church was an answer to prayer.  It will be exciting to see how God will use him (them) to help us in our care and desire to impact our community with the Gospel of Jesus!  I believe that we are on the edge of an amazing year, and excited with the family God has blessed us to serve in.  Thank you for your prayers, and willingness to seek God's will with us!  WELL DONE!  Thank you also for giving to the LORD.  What an encouragement to hear of our faithfulness not only in serving, but also in giving!  GOD IS GOOD!

Welcome Pastor Ray and Robyn

This coming year...be STEADFAST, IMMOVABLE, always abounding in the WORK OF THE LORD, for you know that your labour is not in vain!

Prayer:  We are talking about how we can respond to the call to pray a few weeks ago, by increasing our prayer for REVIVAL in our church and Canada.  If you are interested in being a part of this prayer ministry please let me know and as we develop this ministry we will rejoice together in what God does through our prayers!

TGC-BC:  As October 31 draws closer, so does our excitement in hosting this Reformation conference.  If you have not signed up yet, please do so at tgc-bc.com.  If you can't make the day sessions, the two evening sessions are free, and you are welcome to join us for those.  We believe that the value of remembering the five sola's is worth the investment of our time and money.  October 31, 1517 was not just a rediscovery of the doctrines of grace, but also a rediscovery of song.  If you like singing in church, and hearing voices around you praising God, this is a form of worship that had been lost and was rediscovered during this time.  Song is an overflow of truth, and the discovery of truth overflowed in song!  I praise God for the Reformation, and as we worship in song on Sunday mornings it should cause us to praise God for the faithfulness of those who have gone before us and risked so much so that we would know who we sing to, and also have the truth overflowing in our voices in song!  The Reformation has led to praise!

Family News:

New Comers Luncheon:  If you are new to the church in the past six months, or feel new to the church, please join us for lunch immediately following Sunday's service (October 22).

New Members Meeting:  Next Sunday, October 29 at 2:00.  We are excited to share who we are and look for the fit that God has in mind for us.  If you are new, and would like to learn more about what it looks like to join our family, please come to this meeting.  Pick up a manual this week so you can read ahead and be ready for our time together.  All are welcome.

Baptism:  November 26, 2017.  If you are wanting to obey Jesus in believers baptism by immersion, or just learn a little more about it please contact a pastor.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOD DOING:

Please continue to pray for Christians around the world who are not free to worship, or have are met with abuse because they are Christians.  I read this week of six police officers in Pakistan who are being charged with beating a 17 year old Christian to death.  As those who follow Jesus in freedom we must stand with our brothers and sisters around the world in prayer and love.  I was introduced last week to a ministry called Servants Anonymous that seeks to minister to young women who are kidnapped, or in other ways manipulated into a life of abuse.  Please pray for Christians on the front lines ministering in these settings!  As we rejoice in what God is doing in our church and through our church it is helpful to stay connected to what God is doing around the world and join in, in prayer!

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Trusting God:  He Is There

Text:  Genesis 16

Have you ever felt abandoned in life?

Why is remembering the presence of God is always with us important to trusting Him?

How does Psalm 139 help us with this?

How can we be more conscious of His presence?

What will this help us with if we are?

Why is it important to realize that not only does God see us, but that we live all of life in His presence?

Psalm 16:8

I am excited about another Sunday as we journey together for the glory of our God!  This is our last in the series on Trusting God, and it has been a blessing to my heart to review this texts and truly take the next steps in my desire to live a life of faith!

Looking forward to serving you, and serving with you,

Trusting with joy,

Pastor Rob
