God's Work, God's Way, For God's Glory

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

I am thankful for our church family at Cloverdale Baptist, and that we can be a part of many other ministries that are also seeking to glorify God.  Last week was a great reminder of this for me.

Trinity University:  We continue to pray for Trinity as they stand firm on what the Bible defines as sexual purity and marriage.  This is not an easy stand to take in our culture, and we stand with them on this, and continue to call for prayer as they wait for the deliberation of the Supreme Court Of Canada.  Please pray for Trinity, to stand firm, to be encouraged, and for religious freedom in our country to live with  our convictions as followers of Jesus in Canada.

Lighthouse Harbour Ministries:  On Saturday morning I had the privilege with one our worship teams to attend a breakfast in Richmond.  It was a joy to see this ministry that seeks to share the Gospel with seafarers who come to port.  These seafarers come from countries all over the world and through offering practical assistance to these precious people, the opportunity to share Jesus with them, and to send them home with Gospel literature is earned.  It was a joy to be at this meeting and to see so many people from different churches and walks of life, excited about what it means to reach out with the Gospel in this unique and powerful way.  Loved the way our worship team was introduced, "the best worship team in the lower mainland"...

Sunday Night I had the opportunity to preach God's word to a new congregation, planted in the last year or so, that invited me to join them.  It was a joyful reminder of different ministries in our larger community seeking to obey God through doing church His way.

TGC-BC:  Thursday we had a council meeting for TGC-BC, and as we reviewed our conference looking for ways we can get better we still see an incredible opportunity of building supportive relationships with pastors and church leaders with the goal of seeing a renewed passion for God and His glory in this province.  We believe that  through growing church health, we can impact many Christians and our prayer, to see revival.  Please pray for me, and our church as we serve in a strategic manner in this ministry in BC.

God has placed us in this time, and in this area and ministry opportunities abound...would He find us unified and faithful!  I love what God is doing in our church family, and rejoice as we move forward through so many different ministries into the Christmas season.

Advent is a good reminder for us to stay focused during this season on Jesus, and what He has done for us.  Pray for, and watch for opportunities to share the Gospel.  God will bring them our way and as we are open to His leading, if each of us shares with one or two people, we are on the brink of massive impact.

Sunday Is Coming:

Text:  Matthew 5:17-18

Title:  Jesus Came To Fulfill His Word

Our series for Christmas this year is going to focus on the texts that tell us why Jesus came.  This is important for us, because when we understand purpose, we will be able to worship more extensively.

Why is it important to know that God always keeps His Word!

Can you think of four reasons why the Old Testament is important to us today?

As you reflect on the value of the Old Testament,  what are a few of the ways that it points to Jesus?

How can we live in a way that reflects our trust in God's Word?

How does knowing God keeps HIs Word help us to deepen our trust in Him?

Looking forward to a great Sunday, and a great Christmas season with a great church family,

Who you are is more important than what you do, for it produces what you will do long term!

Rejoicing with you in the coming of the Son, and looking with great anticipation for His return,

Pastor Rob
