Fasting & Prayer

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It is good to belong to the family of God.  What a joy to know that we who do His will are HIs family!  WOW (Matthew 12:50).

Fasting & Prayer:  June 13, 2018

The Bible assumes that we will fast and pray after Jesus ascends (Matthew 9:15) and this is a powerful reminder for us of our obligation to seek after God.  On Wednesday this week we are asking you to join us in a fast (Tuesday after supper to Wednesday supper.)  We want to follow a consistent prayer pattern, so the guidelines can be found on our website.  Encourage you to also join us for an hour Wednesday morning if you can, 7 am.  We promise to be done by 8, and will spend time focused on God together, and then pleading with Him for revival personally and corporately.  Throughout the day this will be the prayer of God's people for His bride here at CBC, and our impact around the world for His glory.  I am excited to do this with you, for it will deepen our intimacy with Him, and develop our impact for Him.

Game On:

We continue to look for those who want to serve (be great in God's eyes) in our kids ministry this summer.  Excited about this ministry to children for God's glory, so encourage you to prayerfully pursue this opportunity.  Please contact Robyn for further details of what we need to make this ministry a HUGE SUCCESS!  We believe greatness comes from pointing to Jesus (Matthew 11:11), we are great when we serve (Matthew 23:11), and Jesus treasures and invites little children to come to Him (Matthew 19:14).  I think this kind of ministry is close to the heart of God, and kids matter to CBC, because kids matter to God.

Our seniors are at a retreat this week, if you are reminded of this, please pray for them and Pastor Ray as he seeks to encourage them to have hope through a careful study of God's Word!

Missions Focus:

Please be in prayer for Christophe and Sybille.  They are in Madagascar and ask prayer for continued safety in their travels and ministry.  They are still learning language and would love our prayers for that.  Please also pray for Sybille's dad, and health issues.  If you know them, send them a quick love letter that assures them of your support and prayers!

Sunday Is Coming:

I love that we prepare our hearts for God's Word on Sunday's.  So thankful that we are a church family that values God's Word in this way.  Please take the time this week to reflect on the text and questions as you seek to know God's Word and apply it!

Text:  Judges 13

Title:  Compromise Leads To Catastrophe:

As you read the beginning of the story of Samson, why do you think that God chooses to spend so much time on this particular character?

Why is understanding and grasping God's grace so central to experiencing victory in our broken lives?

Why does an evil guy like Samson make Hebrews 11?

Compromise in one area leads to deafness to God's Word.  Consider this in your own life...when has compromise in your life led to deafness in obedience to other areas?

How can we fight compromise in our own lives, when so many around us are living in it?

Excited to serve God with you, privileged to hear your stories of the impact this series on Judges is having on your lives!  May God continue to use His Word to shape us for His glory!
