He is Risen!

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

He Is Risen… Is Risen Indeed!

Have you ever wondered why we don’t say that every Sunday?  Jesus came, lived a perfect life, died in our place on the cross, paying the penalty for our sins, was buried, and rose again!  Halleluiah what a Savior!

Is this something that you believe?

One of the great privileges of meeting so many new people is hearing their stories, and Sunday a the door, many shared that this was the first time in our church, and that they were invited there by their friends.  Thank you for being a part of accomplishing the mission God has given us as a church family.  We know that God has chosen each of us to accomplish His purpose, that significance so amazing in that we are a part of His plan for His glory…

Thank you for walking in the pathway of inviting others, and also heard from many how loving new people found our Fellowship, which again is a sign of God’s grace working through you!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL!

It is amazing when we remember who God is, what He has done for us, and that He is with us the difference it will make in our lives.  Your story can be used by God to impact others, and change eternity!  Keep inviting and including!

This coming Sunday we are going back to 1 Corinthians 15 to look at the difference the news of the Gospel makes in our lives…

1 Corinthians 15:19 makes a very shocking statement that when I was younger was hard for me to believe.  Piper calls it the most convicting verse in the Bible for NA Christians….and he may be right.

It forces us to ask the question, what if it is not real…what if Jesus did not rise from the dead…and the answer is that our world falls apart!

We of all people are most to be pitied…and everything becomes meaningless…aren’t you thankful that Jesus did rise from the dead.

One of the implications from the text on Sunday will be, STAY WOKE…so look forward to your shock when that is said, and your delight when it is explained :)

 HE IS RISEN...IS RISEN INDEED!

Sunday Is Coming:

1 Corinthians 15:19

Text:  1 Corinthians 15:19

Title:   Salvation Has Come:  Worthy Of Celebration

As you reflect back on Holy Week, what did you do to make it stand out in your spiritual life?

What would you change to make it more fixated with the Gospel?

  • How can you remind yourself to do this next year?

How have you applied last Sunday’s text in making the Gospel of, “first importance” in your life?

What would change in your life if Jesus did not rise from the dead?

Read 1 Corinthians 15:12-19

Why do you think that Paul states this?

Interact with this question, and discuss how you can grow in the strength of your faith…

“Is your faith in the risen Savior so strong, so shaping of the rest of your life, that you live in light of eternity, and that if this reality was not true, your life would be a waste?”

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, WE ARE NOT SAVED:  Verse 17

  • How is this true?
  • Why is this the most important reality of the resurrection?

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, WE CAN’T KNOW JESUS:  Verse 13

  • How is this tied to the first statement (John 17:3)?
  • Would this dramatically change your life right now?
    • o Why or why not?

If Jesus was not raised from the dead, WE ARE MISREPRESENTING GOD:  Verse 15

  • Why does this matter so much to Paul?
  • Why should this matter to you?
  • How do your life and lips show that you are representing Him right now correctly?

What does it mean to WAKE UP?  Verse 34

How can you live your life awake, and conscious of God’s presence, power and plan?

What does it mean to STAY WOKE (according to Pastor Rob, not the culture around us)?

What are some ways that you can live in the reality of the resurrection of Jesus and grow in intimacy with Him and impact for Him?

How can you effectively preach the Gospel to yourself every day?

Prayer:

  • Thank Jesus for coming, living, dying, being buried, rising again, and accomplishing our salvation.
  • Ask that God would help you to experience His love more and more profoundly.
    • o Pray Ephesians 3:14-21
  • Ask that God would use the communion celebration to deepen your intimacy with Him.
  • Pray for impact on all that came to the Holy Week services that do not yet know Jesus as LORD and Savior!

Pray for our search committee in their pursuit of a Discipleship/care pastor.
