Pastor of Families with a Focus on Children
Pastor Dwight Stephen has been in vocational ministry since 2010. During this time, he has had great opportunities to invest in parents, volunteers, and kids; as well as many other exciting parts of this ministry. Dwight places much intention into relationships, community, and the discipleship of kids and families. He also serve as the Children & Families Ministries Program Director at Pacific Life Bible College. He and his wife Amanda have been blessed with four wonderful kids.
Psalm 78 is a portion of Scripture that has come to mean a lot to him as it lays out how parents can go about establishing a spiritual legacy for their kids. He is excited to bring that vision for Family and Kids Ministry to CBC, as this is what drives him and gives purpose to his life. He believes a thriving ministry should be a strong people-focused ministry where: 1. Children receive intentional shepherding and are known and loved. 2. Volunteers serve with great joy and passion, convinced they provide a strong influence on a generation of Christ's followers and 3. Parents are equipped to lead in the home. It should be a ministry that is fun since the goal should be to have children come back week after week because they enjoy their visit so much, they can't wait to return. When kids keep coming back for the fun, the church can accomplish its mission by continuing to nurture, disciple and teach them spiritually.
It is his vision to create a strong thriving ministry where kids are loved, parents are strengthened, and volunteers are valued; where the life-changing truth of Scripture becomes a life-long reality for every child that walks through the doors of Cloverdale Baptist Church.
