To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
Sunday was a joy filled time for us at CBC. Baptisms are always precious, and it was exciting to hear the stories of those who grew up in Christian homes impacted by their parents, and those who did not and have been impacted by their sons. We have such a privilege as a multi-generational family to impact those around us if we are willing to live our lives selflessly for Jesus! What a privilege to be a part of this on Sunday!
If you have not been baptized as a believer, and want to take this step of obedience - a God glorifying picture of the Gospel - please contact one of our pastors and we will plan this for the near future. God is at work, and we have the privilege of being those entrusted with the Gospel to help others know and follow Jesus, KEEP IT UP!
Christmas is coming, and is a very busy and wonderful time for us as a church. Make sure to keep informed in all of the fun and fantastic things that will be going on as we seek to glorify Jesus and grow in our pursuit of Him. Christmas is a great time for us to worship Jesus and focus on Him. As you shop, and buy food, and see the world around us transformed with sleigh's and snowflakes, take the time to make sure we do not MISS CHRISTMAS...the real meaning, the real relationship and this opportunity to share and worship!
Was reminded on Saturday (the anniversary of his first jail time) of the faithfulness of John Bunyan, and eternal impact this uneducated baptist pastor has had on church history, and Christianity. He was willing to stay in jail because of his conviction that he would not be free unless he could preach the true Gospel. If you have never read, Pilgrim's Progress, may I encourage you to do so, and to also read a good brief summary of this man's life, and let him encourage you to be faithful to our God. John Pipers life summary of Bunyan is a good place to start, www.desiringgod.org/messages/
Sunday Is Coming:
Title: Conduct Unbecoming Of A Christian
Text: Galatians 2:11-14
What is the problem that Paul is addressing?
Why is it a shock that he names names?
Why do you think that Peter struggled with this?
How can you make sure you, and our church are "keeping in step with the Gospel"?
Have an amazing week, and continue to live as one entrusted with Gospel in a way that glorifies God.
Don't forget to read Galatians and continue to grow more and more in your conformity to Jesus!
A fellow follower,
Pastor Rob
