Never Forget

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Press On!

It has been a wonderful experience to press on together as a church family over this past month.  God is so good to use His Word and His people, through His Spirit to bring about corporate change, and I praise Him for this, and thank you.  This weeks focus is on the Love of God for us as His people, and what could be more freeing, focusing, and fixating!  It is truly life changing to experience the love of God, and as we grow ever deeper in this experience, our devotion to Him will be displayed in all of our lives with ever increasing clarity.  Please today (every day) share with others what God is teaching you through this series, and let His word saturate every part of your self.  We need to grow together if we are to become all that God has for us as individuals and His precious church.

Communion Sunday:  As we read through the devotionals this week, one of our goals is to have them peak in one of God's great gifts to the church, the celebration of communion together.  Please prepare your hearts through a strong focus on the Gospel this week, and come ready to REMEMBER, REPENT, RENEW and REJOICE!  This experience of the love of God is rich and renewing as we obey and receive from Him a reminder of His relational love.

Missions Focus:  We have a luncheon this Sunday, to fellowship together around our love for God and passion for the Gospel to be spread around the world.  Our special guests this year are Julie Gibson and Dean Eden.  We are excited to hear from both and to be able to more and more effectively support them with our love and prayers.  The meals are always wonderful, but even more precious the stories of God's work in and through our people.  Both Julie and Dean are homegrown, so come and rejoice in God's work here and around the world, and prepare to be fed well physically and spiritually.  It is right after service.  ALL ARE INVITED!  Please plan on coming and learning and loving.

Real Truth, Real Life:  One of our desires is to be a part of God's transforming work by training our minds.  Please consider (if you haven't already) joining us in this discipleship pursuit at our conference this October.  This is well worth your time and we pray will be another step in the vibrancy of our church family as individuals are challenged to think, and share the Gospel with those around them, being prepared to give an answer for the hope we have in us!  Invite your friends and family, and please be in prayer for those who are sharing at the conference.

As we enter October, our lives tend to pick up steam until after Christmas.  Our passion as Christians is that we would keep the person of Christ at the centre of our lives so that we might find rest in Him, and really live for His purpose in the place given us to serve Him.  SO...STOP what you are doing, and right now fix your eyes on Jesus.  He is worthy of your trust, your time, and of being the template upon which you build everything else.  NEVER FORGET who He is and what He has done as you seek to live for His glory.

This week, pray for our election that is upcoming, and pursue a working knowledge of the issues so that you can vote for the person and party that you believe best fits with God's desire for our country.  As Christians we want to be the best citizens a country can have, and one of the ways we do that is with informed voting.  Pray for Jerusalem (annual prayer day for Israel is October 6), that they would have peace and spiritual prosperity.

Sunday Is Coming:

Prepare your hearts for Communion and this precious opportunity to focus on Jesus.

Title:  Living Life On Purpose: Part 2

  • When you are asked the question, "who are you?", what is your first response?
  • How should you as one who is identified in Christ respond?
  • Why is having our identity in Christ so important?
  • How can you get to know who you are, and be who you are, in a more effective way this week?
  • What does it mean that we are Aliens and Strangers?
  • Who has God placed in your sphere of influence that you can impact for Him?

If, each one reaches one, we will become a multiplying church, and need to have multiple services, so with this passionate goal in mind, who is the one that God has called for you to pursue in prayer and practical love with the Gospel?

Thank you for being such an encouraging church, it is a joy to serve you, have a blessed week as we PRESS ON for to MAGNIFY CHRIST!
