Social Isolation, Spiritual Connectivity

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It is good to be a part of the family of God.

The key question that it seems all of us in God's family around the world are asking is, HOW DO WE STAY SPIRITUALLY CONNECTED WHEN WE ARE SOCIALLY ISOLATED?

What a great question.

For us as a church we are trying to do this in three key ways.  Up our online presence in services, emails, video's, and Bible Studies (huge thank you Elias); Encourage people to love one another through phoning, and sharing spiritually; Consistent and constant prayer for the situation and our government.  We are learning how to do this well, so appreciate your prayers and support, if we all pull together in love, we will grow deeper and wider through the crisis.

We would love for you to send pictures of you doing the Bible study at home, or singing, or listening to the sermon so that we can share them on Instagram and Facebook.  Our Instagram page is @cloverdalebaptist, and we are already doing this.  The harder we work to stay connected the better. Post a story and tag us and we will find you.

BIBLE STUDY:  Wednesday at 6:30 we will be gathering together offline for prayer, there is a prayer guide to help you on our webpage, and then at 7:00, we are asking people all over our ministry area to watch the video Bible study.  After the video, we are then seeking to see our family making phone calls, sharing how they are doing, what they learned and closing that community time in prayer.  WE NEED YOU to participate.  Let us know how best to show you how to do this, and our website will have a link to click on that will take you to all of the resources.  cloverdalebaptistchurch.ca

We will leave all the material online and post it on facebook, please share so that we can maximize our impact in a time where it seems difficult to do so.

GIVING:  We are so thankful for the many of you who are giving online and bringing your offerings to the church during our ministry office open hours (Tuesday - Friday 9 - 4).  We have managed to continue to receive just over half of what we normally do and we are very thankful for that.  Please continue to pray about how you can support our church family through this, and remember you can send in the mail, drop off on site during hours, and give online.

Office Hours:  We are officially closing the office to face to face visits.  This means you can drop off you're tithe, or call up and talk with our admin people, but we will not have people coming into our admin wing.  This is to protect all of us, and to allow us to continue to do essential ministry here for the time being.  Thank you again for your understanding, prayers and support.  IT IS SO APPRECIATED!

Sunday Is Coming:

Sermon Title:  Strong Foundation For Hope In Crisis
Text:  Romans 8:28-30

My heart leaps with joy and confidence as we reflect on Romans 8 together.  I am pretty sure that Romans 8 and our study, reading, and preaching on it has been God's Spirit's gift to us at this time.  So many of you have reflected on this, and it should be a cause of courage and praise.

The verses we are studying Sunday are personal and powerful.  They are a call to know with confidence the greatness of God's love, and to trust in this golden chain of truth.

  • In these verses how does God define good, and how does that compare to your normal view of what good is for you?
  • Why is it important to have God's view of good to be able to respond to crisis in a godly manner?
  • Run through each pillar in these verses and try to give it your definition, and then why these pillar's are so important for us to have confidence in the days of the Coronavirus?
  • How do these verses help you to have hope?
  • Take a moment to read Esther 4:14 and Ephesians 2:10, and ask yourself what are the good works God has prepared in advance for you to do today, and beyond?

Delighted to serve God's people during this time of crisis, crying out to Him with you for peace and joy, and accomplishing His purpose.
