5 x 5 x 5

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Summer is upon us, so I want to give us as God’s treasured possession at CBC at challenge for the summer…

5*5*5

What is this you say?

Five people to encourage in the church every week, five people to share the Gospel with over the summer, five minutes each day to check and make sure you have done this and to pray for success for this endeavor.

Five People To Encourage Each Week:

We want to be a contagious loving church, and you are the key to making this work.  How you ask?  Every week, make it your goal to engage five people that are a part of our church family in encouragement.  You can do this on a Sunday morning, you can do this by having someone over to your home, or sending a card or email, or inviting out for lunch or coffee.  The point is if each of us do this with five different people over the summer each week (okay, if you are out of town you can be creative in how you do it) we will be a lot more connected at the end of the summer.  Will you take the first 5 challenge?  Actively record the five you love each week, and seek to go out of your comfort zone to do it.

Five People To Intentionally Share The Gospel With Over The Summer:

We want to build a culture of evangelism and the pathway to this culture is prayer and pursuit.  Will you pray for five people that God wants you to share the Gospel with over the summer, and then intentionally pursue opportunities to share the Gospel with them.  You are not responsible for the results, but if you share, God will use your sharing to reach people for His glory!  Will you take the 5*5 challenge?

Five Minutes A Day To Be Intentional About The 5 * 5 challenge…so now it is 5 * 5 * 5.

This is a time to pray for people, to take action, and to make plans.  If each of us take as little as five minutes a day to pursue this, we will be a different church at the end of the summer.  Set your alarm five minutes early and pray you would help us to build a connected contagious culture at CBC.

  • Will you commit to take the 5 * 5 * 5 challenge this year? If so, take the time to pray and commit right now to take part in this.
  • Who are the five I will connect and encourage with this week?
  • Who are the five God has put on my heart to intentionally seek to share the Gospel with this summer?

I am committed to pray and pursue this at a minimum of five minutes a day….

Take the 5 * 5 * 5 challenge…and I promise you will not be the same and neither will we.

Sunday is coming…

We are finishing our series on THE END IS NEAR as we prepare for our summer in the Parables.

  • There is so much in our world that threatens our peace and passion for Jesus.  THE END IS NEAR…
  • How are you pursuing HOLINESS in your life?
  • How is your view of PAIN impacted by your perspective of God’s Word from 1 Peter 4?
  • How are your sober minded so that you can pray?
  • How are you LOVING one another effectively?
  • Try to be practical in your answer.  Sometimes we want sermon applications for others, and this is a good desire, but what God wants for us, is to hold the mirror of the WORD to our lives and to respond by changing how we feel, think and live.
  • How can you adjust your life to the reality that the END IS NEAR?
  • The last part of this passage that we will study focuses on serving in the church.  Realizing that we are a part of the family of God and that God has called us to serve Him in this family!
  • What do you think your spiritual gifts are?
  • Are you currently using them to build the bride of Jesus at CBC?
  • Where does God want you to serve?
  • Why is it important according to 1 Peter 4 to serve when we realize the end is near, and to do it in God’s strength?

Blessed to serve Jesus by serving you,

Pastor Rob
