Your Life Matters

To God's Beloved Children At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

How we live our lives matters!  C.S. Lewis stated, "When we Christians behave badly, or fail to behave well, we are making Christianity unbelievable to the outside world.  The wartime posters told us careless talk costs lives.  It is equally true that Careless Lives cost Talk.  Our careless lives set the outer world talking; and we give them grounds for talking in a way that throws doubt on the truth of Christianity itself".

The opposite of this is also true, when we live well, we reflect the greatness of God, and others see Him and can glorify Him.  This morning a friend shared how the life of someone who was in the valley of the shadow of death, in full trust of God, showed those around her how great God was, and even now because of this people are believing in God!

How we live our lives matters.  Live in such a way that you make Christianity believable by those who observe your life, and your following of Jesus!

Today, choose to live for the glory of God!  Speak well of others, model humility and servanthood, and choose to be a blessing!  As each of us does this, the eternal impact of God's work in us and through us will be resounding throughout eternity!  Your choices matter!

Prayer is essential for our church family!  Please consider joining the elders in prayer Tuesday evenings, as we seek God's best and work through praying Scripture and requests.  Also if you would like to join a PARTNERS IN PRAYER ministry for me personally, please let me know, as I plan on building this particular prayer support ministry in September.  We believe that God works through the prayers of His people, which means WE NEED TO BE A PRAYING PEOPLE!

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Behold Your God:  Part 2

Text:  Nahum 1:1-12

Why is it so important that we get our view of God from His Word?

What is your responsibility in this?

What is the churches responsibility in this?

How does Nahum help us with this?

Review:  What does the Jealousy of God mean for us as His people?  Exodus 34:14; Deuteronomy 4:24

What does it mean that, GOD IS AN AVENGING GOD?

This seems so harsh, how can we reconcile this with God's love, goodness, and grace?

What does it mean that God is ALL POWERFUL (omnipotent) and EVERYWHERE AT ONCE (omnipresent)?

Why are these attributes of God so important?  Isaiah 40:10-31

Why do you think that Nahum includes in this text the goodness of God?

How has/should the book of Nahum change(d) your life?

I am privileged to be your pastor!

Have a great week, and make sure that your life and words help to make the Gospel believable to those who don't know Jesus, and enjoyable to those who do!
