To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
This last week we (Pastor Les, Jeff and I) had an amazing opportunity to go to a conference on Worship, led by Daniel Block (one of the worlds premier OT Scholars). It was a great time of refreshment (although the full day sessions were long) and reminders. What was especially clear as we looked at worship that God wants us to have as a church family is that it involves ALL of our lives, and is an overflow of an authentic relationship with Him. It includes what we do on Sunday mornings, but it is SO MUCH MORE.
Christian worship is, all that I am and all that I have, exalting the God of the Bible. This kind of passionate response to God is incredibly unifying as we seek to glorify Him with our lives! May we be a people who truly WORSHIP (Romans 12:1-2) the living God!
Danny Akin has said, "the more we are captivated by the Gospel, the more we will share the Gospel". One of our longings as your Servant Leadership Team (Elders and Deacons) is that we would be a church that is captivated by the Gospel, and live GOSPEL ORIENTED ALTERED LIVES. More on this in September, but encourage you to consider joining a Growth Group this coming fall, and find places to serve, as we seek to become the kind of church that God wants us to become. If you call CBC your church home, God has works here for you to do to help us to be encouraged and built up. Please join us in service, prayer and a passion to be Gospel Oriented! I am excited about what September and beyond will bring as we seek to be a growing dynamic church for the sake of God's NAME!
This week as you spend time alone in God's Word, take the time to share what you are learning with someone else! We need one another to be healthy individuals. The more God centred our conversations, the more delighted He will be with us!
Sunday Is Coming: Make sure to prepare your hearts to come on Sunday morning in a way that you can offer yourselves to God and others, and hear from God in a way that will change your life!
Title: God Is Over All
Text: Nahum 1:12-2:13
Why is knowing who God is, so important to us in all of life?
What does it mean that God is Sovereign over all?
Why is this both a comfort, and an encouragement to evangelism here and around the world?
How is the reality that God is Sovereign over good and evil important for us to know in our trusting of Him all of the time?
How does this text show us that God is a saving God?
God will settle all accounts...why is this important?
What does it mean that God is a sanctifying God?
Have an amazing week as you seek to glorify God with your life, and worship Him where He has placed you, and with us on Sunday morning!
Worshipping, and longing more and more to have my life, and our lives driven and defined by our relationship with Him,
Pastor Rob
