Loved To Live

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Last week, during our pastors mentoring time, I asked each pastor what they would preach if it was there last time they got to address the people they serve.  Pastor Stu said he would share the Gospel and challenge the children to believe, Pastor Les would sing, In Christ Alone, and rejoice in so great a salvation, Pastor Thomas focused on how youth could be challenged to live out their faith effectively, to be those who believe and live what they say they believe with integrity!  Enjoyed hearing their passion, and might turn into a shared sermon one day at CBC, my last sermon would be on Philippians 1:21, and would carry a challenge to live with passion for Jesus, understanding that death is deliverance into the very presence of God!  I will share more on this at men's breakfast (November 5), but thought it was a helpful exercise that might be worth your hearing.  Our time on earth is short, our eternity in Christ secure, so take the short time you have here to be an effective AMBASSADOR for Jesus!

Social Media:  I am not good when it comes to social media.  Could be my age, or skill package, I don't know.  By the time I figure something out, everyone has moved on to the next greatest thing.  What I do know is that one of the most effective ways we can share what God is doing at CBC is through our people sharing on Facebook, or Twitter, or Instagram, or....  So my encouragement to you, is that you would shout out to all in your media range the great things that are happening in your life, and include in that an invitation into what God is doing in our family.  Use your influence to help us bring glory to God together!  I do believe this will help us to impact more and more people for the glory of our God!  One of our pastors shared this morning of this happening, and it brought  joy to his heart, and helped in us as a church accomplishing our mission.

Hymn Sing:  One of our missionaries is coming to share what God has been doing in their lives.  Adam and Judy will be here at Hymn sing on October 30, 6:30, to share what God has been doing in their lives and through our prayers.  They have first hand experience about what is going on in Syria, and the refugee crisis.

Men's Breakfast & Mentoring:  Men's Ministry is kicking of King's Men, Saturday, November 5.  If you would like to take the next step in your spiritual journey, and you are male, talk to Peter, and join us for breakfast, and a time of further study and mentoring.

Reformation Day:  October 31 is the 499th anniversary of the reformation.  This is worth our learning about and celebrating over the next year.  Often October 31 is seen as a day Christians should avoid, or even remove from the calendar...I disagree, and challenge you this week to learn more about the reformation, and all that it has brought about, and talk about it with others in your life.  October 31 is a great day in Christian history, and history is HIS story.

Sunday Is Coming:

Taking the time to read through Galatians will help in your experience of this amazing book, and our goal of having Christ formed in us.  Please as your prepare your hearts for Sunday's message, read through the book, and continue to become close friends with God's Word!

Text:  Galatians 1:11-24

Title:  Gospel Impact:  Testimony

Why do you think that Paul gives his testimony here?

How does his testimony help us understand our own conversion story better?

How does his testimony help us to be loyal to the Gospel?

How did Paul's life and testimony cause others to glorify God?

Take the time to write out your own testimony, and rejoice in God's grace and goodness in your life:

  • What was your life like before you met Jesus?
  • How did you meet Jesus?
  • What is your life like now that you have met Him?

Have a great day rejoicing in God's grace and love, as you represent Him to the world around you with your life and lips.

A fellow privileged AMBASSADOR,

Pastor Rob
