To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
Last week was an exciting week for us as a church as we celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus and all that this means to us in terms of our salvation! I think Sunday was our highest attendance to date, and I rejoice in all of you who invited friends and family to worship with us and hear the Gospel.
Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday are amazing reminders of so great a salvation!
My challenge to us, the week is over, but the reality of what Jesus did carries on with equal importance! It is good to set aside time to remember, and rejoice, and it is essential that we allow what happened that week to impact our lives ongoing.
The New Testament focuses on this precious week, with the Gospels spending significant portions of what they say focused on this week. Matthew has 8 chapters of 28, Mark 6 of 16, Luke 6 of 24, and John the most, 10 of 21. This week is important not just because of all of the events that happened during this week, but the eternal impact it can have on our hearts and minds! It is the most important week in HISTORY, and this week has changed our eternity if we know Him as Lord and Saviour!
The good news of Jesus life, death, and resurrection, when understood and experienced is life changing. It frees and it compels, it causes us to live lives that matter, and to be full of joy. The love of Jesus compels us to bring glory to His name! It changes how we think, feel, talk, live with one another, it changes everything. May our focus ever increase as we make the Gospel of Jesus our one furious obsession!
There is much happening in our church as spring is sprung. Please pay close attention to your bulletin, and the reminders there.
Men's Ministry has a breakfast this Saturday.
Missions team are being set, and getting prepared to go. I was asked to mention the trip to Poland, where godly men of any age are needed. This team is going to a place where male role models are hard to find, and we want to help provide this for them if God wills. If you are prayerfully interested in joining this trip please contact Murray, or Jessica, and consider serving Jesus there.
Sunday Is Coming:
It is helpful to prepare our hearts, by reading ahead, and seeking to prayerfully get ready for what God will have for us through the study of His Word.
Title: Gospel Living: Never Forget
Text: Mark 14:22-26
Why is communion so significant for us as a church?
What are things that might cause us to forget?
What happens when we do forget?
What does it mean that Jesus is our Lamb?
What is significant about 1 Corinthians 11 use of the title LORD for Jesus?
What does it mean that we proclaim His death until He returns?
How can we be a people who celebrate communion effectively and use it to help us to NEVER FORGET?
We use four words when preparing our hearts for communion, run through each of them as you prepare to celebrate with us on Sunday:
- Remember
- Repent
- Rejoice
- Renew
It is my joy to serve you, have a great week, and NEVER FORGET what Jesus has done, and who He is!
