Thankful

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It was another exciting Sunday at Cloverdale Baptist!  Exciting for me because of the amount of people who shared that they want to exclusively and fully love God and one another.  Exciting because of the amount of people longing to serve Jesus with us!  Exciting because of the baptisms, and people of all ages committing their lives to Jesus, whether they are 9 or 70, what a joy!  I am thankful for the email from a grandma praising God for our children's ministry and loyalty to God's Word in our preaching and teaching!  Her words, praising God for a place that they can come and learn to follow Jesus together!  That is our goal, to love God, and one another so much that we can minister effectively to people of all ages and ethnicities.

I am thankful for our Joint Servant Team (elders and deacons) who joined together seeking to value what God values, and seeking to constantly improve us and further God's Kingdom with passionate pursuit of Him.  Please continue to pray for our servants, who long to see God at work, and stay faithful to God and His Word in a way that unifies those who love Him, and help us to get healthier.  God is at work in our ministries, and people...and we LONG FOR SO MUCH MORE!  We need your help as you pray and engage in ministry, so thank you for your love and help, and keep GROWING!

We have much coming, so please pay close attention to what is going on:  MARK YOUR CALENDAR:

Garage Sale:  April 23.  Please come and join us in supporting missions to help set captive children free.  If you want to give a donation to this ministry, please talk to Pastor Thomas, and come and enjoy seeing ministries supported, and you might even be able to get a good deal!

New Comers Luncheon:  Join us this Sunday after church if you consider yourself a newcomer and want a free lunch, and to learn more about who we are, and why we do what we do.  We would love to see you, and enjoy spending time over a meal with you!

Men's Conference:  Be watching for more news on this, but set aside the weekend of June 24-25 to take part in a conference at CBC seeking to help men walk in obedience to God's Word as we see God's Purpose In This Creation.

Membership Class:  May 1, we are having a membership class from 2-4 on Sunday afternoon.  Please join us if you would like to learn more about this family at CBC, and how we are seeking to glorify God where He has placed us.

If you have a passion for prayer and understand it's importance in keeping us faithful, please join us on Tuesday mornings at the church at 10:00 am.  Bob is leading this and it is a privilege to be a part of, and to see God working as we more and more depend on Him completely!

And so much more...please check your bulletin, and the website for more information!

This Sunday we set a record...we had 83 kids in kids church.  This is exciting as they represent families, and as we see them being reached for Jesus and taught to obey His Word.  Please continue to pray for Pastor Stewart and other servants here, and for the children we have the amazing privilege of impacting for God's glory!

I love preaching God's Word to you, and feel overwhelmed with this privilege and praise God for the opportunity!  It is something we value as a church, because we see it as the central part of the NT church, and what God desires for us, and from us.  I read a great quote last week about my preaching, it was from Spurgeon, but applies to me... "I could preach the same sermon to far greater impact if you would pray more for me".  I love how much I am being prayed for, but covet all the more that you would join me in my struggle by praying for me.  I long to stay loyal to God's Word and preach with passion and power and need your prayers to succeed at this!  APART FROM HIM I CAN DO NOTHING, and your prayers are a huge part of His work in my life.  Please keep praying!

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Knowing The Biblical Jesus

Text:  Mark 12:35-44

Our View Of Jesus Is The Most Important Thing About Us:  How can we make sure we get it right?

Why do you think it was so difficult for the people of Jesus day to recognize Him as the Messiah?

Why is it sometimes difficult for us to do the same in our generation?

How does this text help us to understand the different ways that people responded to Jesus, and today respond to Jesus?

How have you responded to Jesus (how are you responding to Jesus)?

How does your view of Jesus shape how you feel, think, and live?

How can you be sure that your view of Jesus is more and more conformed to God's Word, not the world around you?

Have an amazing week!

Longing with your for renewal and revival,

Pastor Rob
