To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
It is good to memorize God's Word together as a church family! Our verse of the month for May is, "Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind..." Philippians 2:2. Our goal is to commit to memory Philippians 2:2-11 over the next few months, and then to seek to apply it to our lives. This verse is about unity, around the mind of Jesus, and being those who declare His love together by how we treat one another. It is worth memorizing and pursuing and will take a commitment to Him, and a following of Him that is beyond normal living. May we be encouraged this month to meditate on this amazing passage, and make it a part of our lives as we live together for the glory of God! Encourage one another to memorize and obey, and even more importantly, seek to apply this to your own life this month, and for the rest of your days!
Reminder that it is Mothers Day on Sunday, and a great opportunity for us to honour our mothers, and those who are mothers in our families. Biblical understanding of family is under attack and one of the ways we can be on the positive side is to praise God and those who obey Him as quality mothers. I praise God for my mom, and her deep love for God that showed in her every day life! She has had a tremendous impact on my life, and has been a big part of shaping my own desire to follow God. I praise God for Lori, and her impact on our four boys. Her longing is to see them follow Jesus, and her time and effort in their lives is VALUED! To all you moms out there seeking to bring glory to God with us, and seeking to impact the next generation (whatever that is for you) THANK YOU, and HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
Please pay careful attention to your bulletin, and our calendar online. We are seeking to offer many opportunities to grow and engage and encourage you to join us in serving Jesus, and encouraging one another!
One specific opportunity that is worth your careful attention is: We have the privilege as a church to be a part of the First Public Showing of Dan Gibson's film, on May 14. Please join us, as we prayerfully anticipate how God will use this film to reach people for Jesus. We have prayed for this ministry, and now get to see together the fruits of our prayers, and Dan's (and others) hard work!
