Merry Christmas

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

We are a week away from Christmas (well, 10 days, but in COVID it seems to be moving much faster), and as we prepare we delight in the reality of God's love for the world.

This Christmas Eve we are excited to invite you to an online service (made available at 4:00 pm Christmas Eve), where our children have put together a delightful choir and singing (COVID friendly if you were concerned) as well, we will be having a Gospel message.  Please invite friends to tune in, and join us on this precious evening for a night of food, fellowship, and focus (okay, we will provide the focus, but hope you will pursue the food and fellowship.)

Plan on JOINING US!

Make sure to bring some baking to those you love, to express Jesus love in ways that allow other around you to experience God's love.  This year, maybe more than ever, we can either choose to feel sorry for ourselves, or to help others who may be feeling this, and I would prefer we all choose the latter. Loving others helps us be a loving church, and often chases out the self focus in our own lives and hearts.

Over the Christmas season, the office will be closed from December 24 - January 4.  Many of our pastors will still be working, so if you need to get ahold of us, please send an email, or call.  We will try to get back to you in a limited amount of time.

It is a bit of a DIFFERENT CHRISTMAS in so many ways this year, so please make sure that you focus on Jesus, and the HOPE we find there.  If you know someone who is isolated this Christmas, please call them, and express our love and God's.  The only way we will be as loving as we need to be this Christmas is if every one of us takes ownership of this passion.

THANK YOU to so many who have given over this past year.  It has been horrible for most churches, and although our number of donors has dropped significantly (25%) our ministries have continued to be able to function in a healthy way as our over all giving is actually slightly up.  THANK YOU!  THANK YOU!

Sunday is Coming:

Please take the time to prepare your heart, and share with others the love of Jesus, fellowship is not easy to come by this year, and we need each of us to be a part of sharing God's love with one another and our world.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Title:  Peace That Is Experienced
Text:  Luke 2

We need to experience peace during these times that are filled with confusion and angst, and the only way we can do that is through Jesus.

  • What is the peace that God is offering here?
  • What is peace with God?
  • How does this help us get peace with others?
  • How does it hurt our peace with others?
  • How can we be peacemakers this Christmas season, helping people know God, and love others?

Remember:  Invite One, Encourage Three!

Blessed to serve you at this time, and during this season,

Pastor Rob
