Merry Christmas

To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Merry Christmas!

It is a different Christmas, but it can still be a very special Christmas if we focus on Jesus and make a huge effort to love our family (physical and spiritual).  Please take the time to share with one another and make the calls and connections that will bless others.  A friend asked me recently, "who is it that God wants to bless through you today?"  Great question, and we have the chance to be an answer to prayer to someone who needs God's love through human servants.

My dad shared with me the other day that this Christmas reminded him of when they were in Kuwait for a few years, and Christmas was a work day that they made special around that work.  They made the most of their situation, and during this different Christmas, so must we!  The best way to do this is to be an imitator of God, and live a life of LOVE...Ephesians 5:1-2.

Christmas Eve:  Don't forget to join us on Christmas Eve!  Our service will be available at 4:00, and we look forward to enjoying this together for the glory of God!  Please call someone else on Christmas Eve from our church family, and go out of your way to LOVE.  The more you include others in the overflow of God's love for you, the more you will be included, for sharing increases the experience when done in the power of the Spirit.  Also be aware we have CONNECTION CAFE going on, on this special day as well!

Who is the one you will invite to our Christmas Eve service, and who are the three you will encourage?  Remember, it takes each of us during times like these for us to remain connected and Christlike.  INVITE 1, ENCOURAGE 3

Please pray for our search committee as they pursue a Pastor Of Worship for God's glory and our good as a church family.  The right man for this is key to our health and unity and we long for God's will, so your prayers are KEY to this!  If you know of anyone who could serve God's family at CBC in this role, please send the search committee and email with that name, or have them put in a resume.

Sunday is Coming:

Title:  Don't Lose Heart

Text:  2 Corinthians 4:1-18

This year has been one where the end is sometimes hard to see.  The Bible knew there would be days like these, and calls for us to NOT LOSE HEART!

Read 2 Corinthians 4, and reflect on the themes found here...

  • What does it mean to be a clay pot?  Why is it important that you see yourself as dependent on God?
  • What is the treasure that we have in these clay pots?
  • How did Paul understand this personally?  Note 2 Corinthians 12:10
  • How can you handle your adversity so others see Jesus in you?
  • How can we display our devotion to God, as it is displayed in this passage?
  • How can we deepen our faith so that in years like this one, we will not be angry or anxious, rather ALL IN?
  • How does a proper view of heaven and eternity help us to live for God and His glory?
  • How can you use this text to help others not to lose heart?

Looking forward to an amazing 2021...

Your Partner In The Gospel, longing for a joy filled different Christmas with you,

Pastor Rob
