Grow, Go, Glow

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church

The last few weeks I have had the amazing experience of a number of children coming to me and quoting one of my favourite verses.  To hear God’s Word coming out of their mouths with accuracy and delight is AMAZING!  The verse itself is so powerful for God’s people…

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

So true, and so profound, and so needed…for my own heart and life!

A great verse for such a time as this, through precious children, makes me appreciate our kids min and getting the Word of God into His people.  Thankful for all of you who serve children, and help them understand God’s Word, one of the greatest places to serve in a church is in KIDS MINISTRY, so thank you if you are helping these children know God’s Word and love it, and align with who He is and what He has done!

I am thankful for each child that shared this verse with me, and now to you…

"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."

We had a wonderful Holy week of realignment to the CRUX of the MATTER…and I hope in our reflection on the greatness of the sacrifice and love we have responded with all we have an are.

Now what?

Grow:  We will spend time on this Sunday, but it is now our goal to grow in our love for God and experience of His grace.  This takes time and effort, and will mean pursuing God personally through prayer, the local church, and Word saturation (Matthew 28:18-20).

Go:  Go to serve, live your life for God, and as you are going represent Him well.  Take advantage of every opportunity to display God’s love where He has placed you.  We call that a culture of evangelism, and want to have each person who loves Jesus to share Him with others (2 Corinthians 5:11-21).

Glow:  Love one another and serve Him in the local church, finding your spot to help us mature together.  Each of us has been given a role to be an encouragement and blessing to others!  Take the time to write a note, send an email, connect with someone you have not seen for a while and be an imitator of God as a dearly loved child (Ephesians 5:1-2).

Sunday is Coming

Take the time to prayerfully prepare for exalting God together in song, prayer and word and look for opportunities to be a blessing and encouragement to others!

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

  • What does this teach about being a fully devoted follower of Jesus?
  • What are things you can do in your life to pursue Jesus as an athlete?
  • Why is it important not to coast in your walk with Jesus?
  • How can you make the “key stone habits” a part of your everyday pursuit?

May our God help us to stay focused this year on what really matters, and overflow what has been an amazing Holy Week of worship together to all of our lives.

Grow, Go, Glow, and let us make an impact for our LORD in His strength, for His glory…

Thank you for being
