Day of Prayer

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church

It is exciting to serve the LORD on behalf of His people.  Johnny and I arrived back from Newfoundland tired and excited about what we had the privilege of being a part of.  You can pick up a ministry report with your bulletin Sunday, but suffice it to say it was a joy to minister together for God’s glory!  There is so much need for Gospel churches in this area of the world, and we had the privilege of helping to produce healthy church planters and pastors for this purpose.  PRAISE GOD!  Thank you for sending us!

Today is NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER in the USA.  A good reminder for us of the importance of prayer, and engaging in all of life in prayer.  May I encourage you especially to be praying for what is happening to protect unborn children in the USA.  We are a church family that values human life from the womb to the tomb, and we long to see babies in the womb valued and protected, and treated with the dignity and value that life made in the image of God has.  May we be gracious, and value children, and pray that we would know how best to pray and pursue a safe place for all people at all ages to know God’s love for them.

Join us for our corporate prayer time on May 15, 6:30 as we seek God’s face together as a church family.  Apart from Him we can do nothing, and prayer is one of the ways that we show our dependence on Him and delight in Him!  Join us as we seek to make this a part of our culture as a church, and a priority in our pursuit of His glory.

We are praying for the Wiebe family as they celebrate the life, and grieve the loss of Christopher.  There will be a service at 2:00 on Friday to seek to show the greatness and glory of God, and to remember this life that sought God’s glory, and to comfort the family.

Sunday is Coming

Text:  1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Take the time to review what we studied last time we were in this text:

  • How are you doing at preaching the Gospel to yourself every day?
  • What changes have you made, will you make, to ensure that you are becoming Word saturated, and God’s narrative is more defining for you than the worlds?

We will talk about three more KEYSTONE HABITS that if we are disciplined in forming will help us to glorify God in all we say and do:

  • Pray:  What is prayer?  What can we do to be more conscious of the presence of God in our lives?  How can we pray more with the motive of interacting with our God?
  • People:  Being a part of a local church, and being loyal to the bride of Christ is essential to spiritual growth.  Where are you serving?  How are you coming to CBC to encourage others, and build others up?  How are you loving those in our family self sacrificially?
  • Person:  How do we stay focused on Jesus, in the midst of what is a distracting world?  Why is this so important?  How can you fix your eyes on Jesus in practical ways?

Preparing your heart by meditating on God’s Word is a great way to get the most out of what God’s Spirit wants for you Sunday.  Get a good sleep, fix your eyes on Jesus, and join us in worshipping Him, loving one another and growing together for His glory!

Privileged to be your servant, because I am His,

Pastor Rob
