The End Is Near

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

THE END IS NEAR!

The end of what you say?

Well, we are starting to get ready for the summer, and the weather is certainly a reminder of what season this is...so some ministries are winding down.

We finished our series on Revelation, so the end of that is near.

We had some people promoted to glory, so that is a reminder that the end is near...please pray for Judi Turner and family, and  Allan went to be with the LORD, and his service is on May 25 at 1:00 pm.

The END IS NEAR, meaning our fiscal year, so we have a congregational meeting coming, all members reminded that we do God's business at these meetings so be in prayer and plan to attend on May 24 at 7:00 pm.

What does it mean to you that THE END IS NEAR?

THE END IS NEAR is a phrase that has been used in the history of Christianity as a reminder of the need to live in light of eternity!  To be a people who love Jesus so much that He is our greatest treasure, and we delight in Him.  THE END IS NEAR means that Jesus could return, and perhaps as important, death is close to all of us, so we should live in light of that end.

What does this mean practically?

We finished our series on Revelation last week, and it is always a little difficult for me to move on…SO…with the freedom I have on what to preach from God's Word, we are going to look at 1 Peter 4, for a series that seeks to apply what we have learned from Revelation.  If Jesus is coming again soon, how then should we live?  What should we do if we really believe THE END IS NEAR?  Thankfully God tells us, so come ready to respond to the imminent return of Jesus!

THE END IS NEAR, and we all should live in light of it.

Sunday Is Coming...

Text:  1 Peter 4

Title:  The End Is Near:  Suffer Well

Read 1 Peter in its entirety, and pray God will show you how you should live today!

  • What stands out to you from this chapter?
  • Why is there so much suffering for those who name the name of Jesus?
  • How can we live in a way that shows we are not surprised and we trust Jesus when suffering comes?
  • How can we stay holy in our lives when suffering comes our way?
  • What are some ways we can stay focused during the end times that bring so many distractions?
  • How does your life show that you know that Canada (or the country of citizenship you have on earth) is not your home, but heaven is?
  • Reflect on 1 Peter 2:11-12, and ask how you can live it out in your everyday life?

Proud to be an “alien and stranger” on earth….with all who love Him above everything else,

Pastor Rob

REMINDER:  We have a baptism on June 18, and invite any wanting to take this next step of obedience to let the office know for an interview with an elder/pastor.

Identifying Biblical & Cultural Issues

▶ The Cloverdale Baptist Podcast When issues arise in the church and the world, how do we avoid being traditionalists, where we build non-biblical fortresses, or culturalists, where we try to get as close as possible to the line of culture without crossing it?
