To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
As we begin to get ready for an amazing ministry year that will kick off in September, there are a few choices we want you to be able to make:
Discipleship Hour: The elders believe that discipleship hour should be a priority in terms of helping us to deepen the walk of people from CBC. This is essential for us, as we see so much going on in the world around us.
So, starting in mid-September, we will be seeking to use the Sunday morning hour (9-10) to offer a number of courses that are to help us live lives of faith in a messed up world. To glorify God and not be distracted, disoriented, or divisive.
The first course section will be a six week time period that will include a course taught by Pastor Rob on Current Cultural Chaos, and Christ’s Call Answer. This course will look at many cultural attacks we are currently enduring and how we can live for God, in obedience to His Word in times like these (covering things like, SOGI; Abortion and Euthanasia; LGBTQ; Intersectionality; Secularization; Coasting DE churched “Christians”; Covid Chaos…and many more…with a desire to show how we should respond to these things. Ken Bayne will also be teaching a Foundations of Faith course seeking to help people grow deeper in their faith. This will focus on those relatively new to the faith, and seek to offer a biblical worldview.
We really want people of every age engaged and given the opportunity for this growth, so we will continue to have classes and care for people of all ages during this time. We would love for you to prayerfully consider making this discipleship hour a tool for you to live faithfully in the times we are in.
Mentoring 101: For all who want to learn how to impact others in a healthy manner, we are having a mentoring course on Saturday, August 19. This will run from 9-12, and include content and interaction with the goal of equipping people to help others in the journey God has placed them on. We will have snacks and coffee, and if you need it (please ask) we will be providing child care. All are welcome, and this is not going to be tied to a program, rather to deepen our understanding and ability to walk with people through this process.
5*5*5…THANK YOU for those who have taken this challenge seriously and tried to encourage five people a week, pray for 5 non-followers of Jesus in your sphere of influence, and set aside five minutes a day to pray for and pursue this. Many of you have shared how God has used this to help you be a blessing…THANK YOU! Keep it up. The strategy of our church for being a church that loves and reaches out with the Gospel is YOU!

▶ The Cloverdale Baptist Podcast God did not create us to live the Christian life in isolation, but in relationship with him and one another.
