September Has Blown In

To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Today begins a new month, and exciting new days ahead in the strength of God!  We welcome new STAFF (Pastor Les; Bartley; Lorraine; Natasha) and this is always exciting to see the team come together and serve this family effectively.  We see ministries start to kick off, including brand new opportunities to reach our community for Jesus!  We see our building starting to feel like home, and will soon see the impact we can have together as we pursue God with all our hearts!  We see new families every week, and are given opportunities to welcome and love new people with joy!  We see new opportunities to serve Jesus almost every day.  I am excited about this new year and all it will bring.

Please be in prayer personally, and with others, as we know Psalm 127:1 is true not only about the building, but also the church.  PRAYER is essential as a foundation for all we will be doing, as we seek God's glory together!  Please pray for me as I prepare God's Word each week and seek to preach in the power of the Holy Spirit!  We need God to be at work to succeed!  Please pray for all the ministries kicking off, and all the leaders who are serving the bride here.

Pray for our kick off Sunday, GRAND OPENING, on September 13.  This is an important day as we seek to make good, "first impressions", in our community and church world.  It will be a privilege to have Dr. John Neufeld join us to preach, and we will be sharing the gospel in our afternoon gathering, so invite your friends.  We have worked together to have the privilege of the new building and all the opportunities it provides, please join us in celebrating and helping others to be a part of our family.  Plan on making Sunday a time of worship, celebration, and join us for both times in helping us accomplish our mission.  Morning service will be at 10:30; afternoon will be 2-4, with a gathering time at 2:30.  Your help in making us more and more loving and welcoming as a church is needed.  We will have a coffee time after Sunday morning service as well as a snack and coffee in the afternoon.

We would love every person who attends Cloverdale Baptist to be a part of a smaller group ministry.  Please prayerfully consider joining a growth group this year, or one of the many other opportunities to grow smaller as we grow bigger...

On September 20, there are two exciting things happening at our church.  Sunday School starts.  this is for all ages, and we recommend you find a place to grow and belong Sunday mornings.  There are three adult class options to bring your coffee to with your friends, a study of God's Word, with a passion to know how to study; Discipleship 101; and a look at how the culture is invading the church, and how to battle this.  For more information and to sign up go to the information desk in the foyer.  So, this year, commit to come, bring your family and join us in growing closer to God, and becoming more effective in our passion to live for Him!  September 20 will also bring an opportunity to come and see the reports from our short term missions people.  We have sent them, prayed for them, and now they have returned so join us in hearing from them how God used them, and our prayers to change eternity.  This will happen on Sunday evening, and is an opportunity to continue to love and support those we sent.

This coming Sunday will be our last in the series on the Attributes Of God.  What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us!  Please use this series not only to sharpen your minds and hearts on the greatness of the God of the Bible, but also to cause your hearts to long for more, and to seek actively to know Him more intimately every day!  It is my prayer that this series will have changed our view of God to be more biblical and renewed our passion to glorify Him.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  How Great Is Our God:  God Is Love

Text:  1 John 4:7-12

Why is it important that we define the LOVE OF GOD biblically?

Why do you think so many misunderstand, or don't experience the love of God?

What does propitiation mean?

Why does that matter?

How is understanding the problem of sin essential to understanding the love of God?

How can we experience God's love more richly so our lives can be impacted by this?

How does communion help us with this celebration and experience of God's love?

Meditate on Ephesians 3:14-21

Have an amazing, exciting week!

A Fellow Servant,

Pastor Rob
