To God's People @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
Last week was a good week as we focused on missions and prayer. I enjoyed going to missions fest and have heard good reports from others that went, as we seek to be a part of what God is doing around the world. It is exciting to see where many are coming to know and love Jesus, and to be a part of that with our prayers and support. I am delighted to see us embrace a passion for missions as a church, and am longing to see God choose through our church family people to send around the world for His glory. Please continue to pray for our missions committee and elders as we continue to seek to be a church that accomplishes the Great Commission here and around the world.
It was nice to relax last Sunday, and be a part of the congregation in a different way. I love when the Spirit of God aligns things, and enjoyed Roy's joy in seeing the verse of the month, his text. It is an affirmation for all, that this is an important verse for us as a congregation, and that our longing to be a HOUSE OF PRAYER is a great one! I was also greatly encouraged after the service when the Comries shared with me how much they appreciated our worship service, and deep desire to be multi-generational. So many struggle with this in the, "serve me, and my desires" culture, and to be able to see what we are doing through their eyes was a tremendous encouragement for our worship teams, Pastor Les, and our passion to be multi-generational!
I really enjoyed the new comers luncheon on Sunday, the food was great, and there are so many new people coming into our Fellowship. Please take the time to notice people around you, and help us create an atmosphere of love for the glory of God. As we grow, each persons part in helping us to be a family filled with the love of God will become more and more important.
Tuesday at 10:00, we are meeting for prayer in the Administration wing. All are welcome as we seek to continue to rest on God, and pursue His best in His strength. We long for God to move with power, and our prayers will be a key part of seeking that!
Brenda Selby went to be with Jesus, and her memorial service is on Friday at 1. It is hard for us to see so many going to be with their LORD, and I encourage our hearts to be ready for Jesus return, and live our lives in a way that matters. Brenda is with her LORD and in that we rejoice. Please pray for Jack and the family, as they grieve, and journey forward.
Baptism:
We are excited to have a baptism This coming Sunday (February 7), and also February 21. If you would like to obey Jesus in baptism, please contact our office and we will try to make this happen. Baptisms are so exciting for us as a church family as we rejoice in our own salvation, and delight together in God's work in others. If you have not been baptized yet as a believer, please prayerfully consider taking advantage of these opportunities, and not only obey Jesus in this, but also cause those around to rejoice.
Sunday Is Coming:
Title: Baptism: Obedience That Pictures Our Salvation
Text: Romans 6:1-14
Why do you think that baptism is so important to Jesus?
What does baptism symbolize?
How can you celebrate your own salvation when you see others being baptized?
Why is baptism so important to our church?
May God grant you an amazing week as you serve Him as His Ambassador where He has placed you.
Please prepare your hearts for communion as well as we seek to remember all that Jesus has done for us, and live our lives in light of that!
