To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
Valentines Day is coming! For you married that need reminding, consider yourself reminded. It is a great day for us to celebrate the kind of love that Jesus wants us to have for one another, and particularly in marriage. Husbands and wives, use this day to honour Jesus, and to love one another, and express it in new and fresh ways. For those not married use this day as a reminder of the incredible importance of loving one another! Love is to be the mark of those who have experienced the love of God, and we are doing well at this as a church, but always could improve. Use this day as a reminder that God wants you to imitate Him, and the key way of doing that is to live a life of love (Ephesians 5:1-2). Our culture longs to be loved, those who are Christ-like look to love, and when those are mixed, we have the opportunity to give an answer for the hope we have in us. Happy Valentines Day! And for Pastor Thomas (and others) HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Monday was FAMILY DAY. We live in a world that is progressively moving away from a Biblical view of family. This is an opportunity for us to teach and display what God's Word teaches about family. Let us seek be a multi-generational family as a church, and display in our nuclear families what it means to live our lives with Jesus at the centre of all we think and do. This will only be possible as we submit to Jesus as first in our lives, and live selflessly as an overflow of that relationship for God's Glory. Hoping you enjoyed Family Day, not only as a day off, or a day to make extra money, but as a day to rejoice in your own family, and as a reminder to help us to be a multi-generational church family.
Reminder: Baptism Sunday: February 21, we are excited about this, and if God is leading you to obey Him in this, please contact one of your pastors. This is an exciting day, and already a number of people are choosing to obey Jesus. We are excited about a wonderful celebration of salvation!
Reminder: Membership Class 2:00 P.M. February 21. All who would like to know more about our church, please join us for this class. There is some material that would be helpful to pre-read, so encourage you to get that from the information desk. If you want more information, please contact Dan Radke.
Reminder: Our Youth are going to a retreat this weekend. Please pray for Pastor Thomas as he leads our youth and sponsors to grow in their relationship with one another and our great God!
We are continuing to make PRAYER a high priority for the year of 2016. Thank you to those who are joining us on Tuesday mornings at 10, and for everyone else who is seeking to develop, deepen, and improve their personal and corporate prayer lives.
Sunday Is Coming:
Title: Now What? Being Missional
Text: Acts 13:1-4
Who are some great missionaries that you know personally?
What makes them great in your mind?
Matthew 11:11, shows us Jesus view of greatness, what does it teach us about our own lives as those, "least in the Kingdom of Heaven"
What can we learn from this church meeting about intimacy with God, and seeking His will together?
Why did the church set apart Paul and Barnabas?
How can we have Jesus as our first love?
How will this be on display?
Have a great week serving Jesus!
Excited to worship with you Sunday and hear and seek to obey God's Word with passion and joy.
Pastor Rob
