To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul and forget not all His benefits" Psalm 103:1-2. We read this as a staff this morning and what a great reminder to us of who God is, what He has done, and if we remember what that means for our lives! Oh that we would remember and praise Him! Oh that we would be a people who never forget the greatness of God and His salvation and love towards us. Take the time today to read this Psalm and BLESS THE LORD.
I had two new people come up to me (neither are members) after our meeting on Tuesday night and express how much they loved our meeting. They loved the great leadership that was provided, the information that was shared, and the culture of love and godliness that we displayed. Thank you for being a part of this, and as we praise God for our congregation, we celebrate that clearly it is His work that is unifying us and has left us so blessed! Philippians 1:3-11 on display!
This summer we have the privilege of three wonderful interns, and one of our goals is to help them to have the best spiritual summer of their lives. To do this we are mentoring them, and my privileged role in this is to help them to create patterns in their life that will cause them to grow closer to Jesus. We are following the acrostic A.L.I.V.E., and this pursuit of God is good not only for our interns, but also for our entire church, so thought it would be good to share it with you over the summer.
The acrostic is as follows:
A: All Out For God:
L: Longing To Know God's Word:
I: Inviting God Into All Of Life:
V: Very Committed To The Local Church
E: Enthusiastic About The Gospel:
The starting place for spiritual growth is always authentic Christianity, forgiven (Romans 8:1) and compelled (2 Corinthians 5:14). The grace of God leads to devotion to God (Romans 12:1-2), and an all in commitment to Him. If you want to grow as a Christian, you need to be a Christian, and you need to be willing to be go ALL OUT FOR GOD. Today take the time to reflect on your life, and make sure that you are committed to Him. If you are not, you will not be able to grow in grace! True Christians are fully devoted to God, and growing in Him! Our love for Him, driving and defining us (Matthew 22:37-40).
The Interns all signed a commitment to God, something I have done at numerous times in my life, "Today I commit myself, in the context of grace, to going all out for God, for His glory" This summer, make it your goal to follow God, and to live a life that is fully devoted to Him. This is the starting and staying place of Christian growth in the context of the Gospel. Meditate on Romans 12:1-2, and as we personally commit ourselves to loving God, and growing, we as a church will be revived. Revival begins with you, and growth begins with the Gospel, so take the steps today to be a part of what God is going to do in us and through us this summer.
Sunday is Fathers Day! Take the time to say I love you to your dad, and to share why you love him. My dad is one of my heroes, a man of faith, integrity no matter what the cost, and he is brilliant. His devotion to God, his family, and his church are things I want to be like my dad in. Family is under attack in our culture, and this is an opportunity for us to pray for and honour our fathers. For you dads, seeking to honour Jesus, THANK YOU, and may God bless you as you continue to seek to lead your family into His presence for His glory. I honour my dad as someone who has faithfully loved me, and showed me through his life and lips how to live in a way that honours Jesus.
The next week is a full ministry week, so would covet your prayers as we pursue God, and obedience to His Word with our men and with our seniors! Thank you so much for all of you who carry me in your prayers, it is one of the reasons that God is at work in this place, so please don't stop!
Sunday Is Coming:
Title: Fathers Day: Building The Right Foundation For Life
Text: Colossians 3:18-25
What are some ways you can honour your father this year?
What are three things you are really thankful for?
How does this text help fathers to do God's will in their role as dads?
What does it mean to provoke?
What does it mean to discourage?
How can we be a people who do everything in Jesus name?
What does it mean to live in light of eternity?
Hope you have an amazing day as you seek to glorify God together!
