To God's Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
It has been a very encouraging week as we continue to seek to glorify God with our lives as a church family! God is good, all the time, all the time, God is good! As we grow numerically as a church, we also need to seek to make sure that we are growing in our active love for one another. If you have been a part of our family for more than a month, please try to find a new person this Sunday that you can say hi to, and get to know. The bigger we grow the more we need to go out of our way to encourage and love those around us!
This weekend is the ladies retreat so a number of our ladies will be gone. Please pray for them as they seek to grow closer to our LORD and one another. This is a great chance to get away from normal life, and to engage in relationships! Please pray that God will help the ones that travel to get across the border without problem that those who are left behind (rapture language) to flourish with their families. If you are going, we will miss you on Sunday...HAVE A GREAT, GROWING TIME!
We have been discussing what a good friend looks like, and we come to the end of our acrostic today, with the D. A good friend gives DIRECTION. In fact, we all need advice, and having good friends is a huge factor in living a God directed life. Proverbs 27:9 tells us that a good friend brings joy as they share heartfelt advice. In my own life it is so beneficial to have those around me who I can count on to help me see situations from a God honouring perspective! Look for friends who are willing to help you see life from God's view and live life wisely. God has blessed me with friends that do this, and I long to be a friend who helps others through all of life with godly counsel.
Sunday Is Coming:
Title: The Glorious Gospel: Get It Right!
Text: Galatians 1:1-10
Why is getting the content of the Gospel right, so important?
What steps can we take as individuals, and as a church to sharpen our view of the Gospel?
This week in getting ready for Sunday share the Gospel with one other person, and then tell someone in our church how that went.
Have a great week as you rejoice in God and His goodness, and, if you have a booklet, find someone around you to interact with on the Growth Group questions. Our longing is that we would be growing together in community. If you want to join a growth group, it is not to late, please talk to Pastor Les!
