To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:
God is worthy of our trust for all of history, and in every area of our own lives. I am so thankful to be able to study God’s Word with you, and to delight in the book of Revelation and all that it means to us!
This great reality means that we can live our lives with confidence in God’s presence and actively look for where He wants us to show His love and holiness.
We as elders are focusing on discipleship in the upcoming months (God willing) and it is important for us to communicate with you what that means. It means each of us should pursue a walk with God that drives and defines us. This will always be displayed in our commitment to Holiness, Love, Mission, and TRUTH.
If we know Him we will pursue HOLINESS (1 Peter 1:16). What is this? It is being set apart by God for Him, and also being pure and holy. This is not easy in the world we live in which we are called to be in but not of. Holiness is always under attack, and if we slip into the ditches that are there can lead to apathy, or legalism…which are both very dangerous.
If we see that God is HOLY, we will want to be HOLY, and we will pursue it with all our might. How can you be holy? Know God, and know His Word and choose to live in His presence. Seems like we come back to this a lot, but if you are more in the world than the Word your view of holiness will be worldly and not from God.
So, this is a cry for us to spend more time in the Bible than in the culture, and more time reading God’s Word then we spend on the internet, or watching TV. Simply put this is a Gospel motivated application of Romans 12:1-2.
Would you join me in making this a priority this summer as you rest and get ready for a great kick off to the year in September? Holiness is not just a decision, it is a pursuit, so my encouragement for all of us, don’t just want to be holy, choose to take the steps, the Word saturation it will take to get there with me!
Repent of any sin you have in your life. Take this seriously, and turn to God for satisfaction, away from your sin. STOP...Really do this...Hebrews 12:14
Renew your commitment to a first love devotion to Jesus that includes your thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5) and your actions. Love Him and let it show!
Radical mind filling with God's Word is your hope for long term victory...Romans 12:1-2, so meditate, memorize, read, and listen to God's Word more than you spend being trained by the world. Psalm 119:11 is clear, the pathway to holiness is hiding God's Word in our heart. Begin and end each day in the Word, and stay in it, in the in-between!
BE HOLY AS HE IS HOLY!
This will yield humility and corporate commitment to this pursuit! You can’t pursue holiness without it yielding intimacy with God and humility with others.
Let us be HOLY, as He is HOLY and show by our purity and humility our distinction from the world.

- Why is it so easy for us to be distracted from Jesus?
- What are ways that Revelation helps us to trust Him in the middle of the chaos of life?
- How can you learn to see Jesus better, so you live for Him more completely?
- Who has God placed in your sphere of influence that He wants you to share His Gospel with?
- How can you pray for them, and actively look for opportunities to show and share your faith with them?

Spring Garden Clean-up

We made good progress the first time but there is more to do on the garden around the church. Please join us for an hour or 3 as we tackle more areas. Wheelbarrows and strong arms needed too as we will have more bark mulch to spread out.
