Above All

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It was good to be in another church, and serve with another church family…but I MISSED YOU!  Squamish is one of the most beautiful places on earth, but it is the people of God that really make a place home.  It was good to preach in another setting, but where God has called you feels a lot more like home.  Thank you for being easy to preach God's Word to, for having a hunger to hear it and to apply it to your lives.

Thank you for being a healthy church that is staying focused on Jesus and experiencing and sharing His love.  In times like these, this is not easy, but it is essential!  It is good to be home :)

If you would like to join my partners in prayer team this year, please let me know, and I will add you to this team.  This team prays for me, and requests I share weekly, and join me in my struggle by praying for me.

Every year (around Labour Day) we take the time to look at a passage that is introduced to us with the words, ABOVE ALL!  Any time the Bible uses those terms it should cause us to grab a highlighter, and take note at what God wants us to focus on and apply.

This year we are looking at 1 Peter 4:8, and noticing that God wants us to LOVE EACH OTHER.  To display God’s love by the way we self sacrificially love one another.  This is not easy, as we are filled with issues that distract, and some people don’t feel all that deserving of our love.  Not only that, but the selfishness of our culture has demanded that we are loved, rather than we experience God’s love and love one another.

It is my prayer that this great ABOVE ALL passage will help us to choose to value what God values and together to choose to love one another.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Above All…LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Text:  1 Peter 4:8

  • Take the time to read 1 Peter 4.
  • Why do you think that this is so important to the Holy Spirit?
  • How do you show that you are applying this to your life?
  • What changes do you need to make so that you are ABOVE ALLING this command?
  • How does an experience of God’s love make this kind of choosing to love possible?
  • How can you experience God’s love more richly so that you can clear your heart of selfishness and emptiness?

We have an exciting year ahead of us, if we will listen to God’s Word together, and in the power of the Spirit apply it to our lives!

Loving You, Because I am Loved by Him,

Pastor Rob
