Greetings from Calgary

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

Hello from Calgary.

Thank you for your prayers last week for the Pastoral Ministries class.  Was a joy to see so many with a hunger for God and His will in serving the local church.  So important as the culture around us shifts to have loyal servants to the bride of Christ.

After teaching, I travelled to Calgary with the privilege of seeing my parents.  They are doing well, although continue to covet your prayers for them and their health.  Mom is recovered from her fall (at least mostly) and driving again!  Dad is  continuing to travel down the healing road filled with appointments and medication…and seems to be doing well!  Thank you for continuing to pray for them and our family as we journey forward in this season of life.  I am so thankful for them and the legacy they continue to leave in my life and extended family…I praise God for His gift of my parents.

We are finishing up our preparations for the conference, and covet your prayers for this and all it entails!  If you would like to be a part of our prayer team, please let us know and we will see that you get the prayer updates.  YOUR GENEROSITY is such a BLESSING!

Have enjoyed staying up on the church Bible read and encourage you to do the same and share some of what you are learning from God’s Word with someone else in the congregation.  In a world gone mad in political correctness and the invasion of the religious right we must fight to be WORD SATURATED so we don’t fall into the ditches of adding to God’s Word or taking away from it.  Please continue to pursue God through His Gospel, Word, Prayer, and Service to and in the local church!

Sunday is Coming:

This will be the last Sunday in our series from Christmas on Why Jesus Came.  It is so important that we respond as stewards, and so in line with our commitment to preach the, “whole counsel of God” we will be focusing on using all that we are and all that He has entrusted to us for His glory.

Title:  Why Did Jesus Come?  TO MAKE A PEOPLE HIS VERY OWN

Text:  2 Corinthians 8:7-9

Why is it important to live life in relationship with God when it comes to discussing our role as His Stewards?

  • How does the example of Jesus help us to live for Him?
  • How do you see your life now, as a steward?
  • What does He want to accomplish through your living, giving, and serving?
  • Why is this so important as we seek to live in the world, but not of the world?
  • How can we discover the privilege of stewardship in the midst of a selfish world?

Thankful for you, and your service of Him with this church family,

Pastor Rob

We will have one more opportunity to gain a pen, give a pen, this coming Sunday.
