Eternity Is Real

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

It is good to be a part of the family of God!

In fact serving Jesus bride is one of the best ways that we as those loyal to Jesus can be found doing.  How do we stand firm in a world that seems to be drifting?  The Bible is clear we are most mature when all of us are using our gifts to build the local church.

This comes from being Gospel Oriented and allowing the good news to free us from condemnation and selfishness and focus us on God’s glory in our lives now.  It brings peace in our relationship with God by grace through faith, and passion in our lives to serve Him in all we say and do.

If you learn to preach the Gospel to yourself every day it will revitalize your spiritual life!

We must be a people who pray, who seek God and intimacy with Him as we pour our hearts over to Him.  One of the reasons we do not have, is because we do not ask.  And one of the reasons we struggle with anxiety is that we don’t take things to God in prayer.  Take the time to intentionally pray this week and increase your passion to spend time in His presence always, as well as to have prolonged times of growing in your intimacy with Him.

Also encourage you to join us in our times of prayer as a church family on the first Sunday of every month.

If we want to live victorious Christian lives we must spend time in the WORD.  In fact, if we are more disciplined about our training from the world, not the WORD we will live and think and feel like the world and fail in our seeking to be conformed to Jesus.  Take the time to intentionally grow your knowledge of God and His Word, read, meditate, memorize, and pursue a constant and passionate intake of God’s Word.  Psalm 1 tells us that this is the foundation of a spiritually fruit filled life.

To become who God wants us to become we also must take the time to be in community.  To be committed to a LOCAL CHURCH, and show our love by engaging with others in building her up.

This is not easy as we live in a self-centred, isolating world.  Most see the church as a consumer, but if we are to grow in our faith we must see her as the bride of Jesus, and as such we are beautifiers.  We build her by using our gifts, encouraging one another, engaging in song and word together, and in unity in Christ partaking in communion.  We see it as a privilege to serve God with fellow broken forgiven sinners, and build the body of Jesus.

It is interesting to me that maturity (Ephesians 4:11-16) comes to a local church as each part does its work!

As you evaluate your life, ask your heart a few questions?

Do you view Jesus bride as a consumer or builder?

How are you building the bride of Jesus?

How are you using your resources to build unity and delight in God's people at Cloverdale Baptist?

What do you see as your role in being a part of building the family of God?

How can you use your life to be an encouragement to others in our family this week?

Try to be specific in your answers and seek to live them out.

I love CBC.  So many are giving and connected, and we are fighting against the selfish perspective of the world.  Keep it up, and as you battle with me, fight for the health of Jesus bride by battling for your own spiritual health, and using who God has made you to be a blessing and encouragement to others in our family (Ephesians 2:10).

Sunday Is coming:

Revelation 20

ETERNITY IS FOR REAL

It is difficult for temporal people like us to realize the importance of living in light of eternity.

Read All Of Revelation 20.

  •  Why is it important to realize that there will be a judgment?
  • Read 2 Corinthians 5:11-21
    • What is the fear of God in verse 11?
  • How does the reality of the coming judgment help you in your passion to live for Jesus now?
  • How does it shape how you view your interactions with people who don’t know Jesus?
  • How can you be a part of God’s plan to share the Gospel with those in your sphere of influence?
  • What are steps you can take to live for the wall and not the dot?

It is a joy to be a part of this family, and to serve God with you!
