Newfoundland Needs Jesus

To God’s Beloved at Cloverdale Baptist Church:

We had the amazing privilege of going on behalf of our church family to serve Mile One Ministries, and an Engage conference last week in Newfoundland.

Johnny led and served in a number of the sessions and led a few breakouts, Mitch joined in helping exalt God in in the session I preached in, as well as did preparations for our missions trip in August and I preached and visited with many different pastors from around the globe.  It is always a joy to see how God is working around the world and we are privileged to partner in the Gospel with this amazing ministry.  I am so thankful for our partners in the Gospel!

Newfoundland needs a love for Jesus, and the healthy churches that this produces, and to play a part in this is an honour.  Please pray for this great province and these precious people.

I shared from 2 Corinthians 5, on how not to lose heart, and was enriched in my own heart from God’s precious Word!  There is so much we can gain from hearing from His Word, in the power of the Spirit and seeking to live it out.  So, find your identity in Christ and you will not lose heart, you are RIGHTEOUS in Christ, you are REMADE by Christ, you are RADICAL in that you now live exclusively and fully for Him, and you are His REPRESENTATIVE.  If you understand your identity in Christ you will never lose heart, and you will always live for Him and His glory in unity with His church.  Now you have my message in a paragraph. What a joy for my own heart and encouragement, so as the inclusion in 2 Corinthians 4 directs, DON’T LOSE HEART!

I have been spending a lot of time in Philippians 1 lately, preparing for different messages that I have the privilege of giving, and am overwhelmed at the exclusive all defining passion of Paul to honour Jesus.  He was willing to put up with jail, abuse from others, and anything else (gave up all his rights) if through it the Gospel would advance.  I WANT TO FOLLOW PAUL AS HE FOLLOWS CHRIST…and so say, TO LIVE IS CHRIST, TO DIE IS GAIN!

Sunday is coming, and we are getting back into Revelation…this book is for us right now to strengthen our faith and resolve and to live in light of eternity as we fight forward in this world but not of this world.

Sunday Is Coming:

Title:  Heaven Is Real

Text:  Revelation 21

  • What do you think of the people who say they went to heaven and came back?
  • Was there anyone in Scripture who did this?
  • Why is our understanding of what is to come so important in keeping us holy, loving and missional in this world?
    • 2 Corinthians 4:16-18…5:11-21
  • Why is it essential to remember that the most important thing about heaven is the presence of God?
  • How can we be radically God centered and eternally focused in our lives today?
  • What will a pattern of being eternally focused look like in BC in 2023?

It is a joy to be your servant because I am His,

Pastor Rob
