Family Is So Special!

To God’s Beloved At Cloverdale Baptist Church:

We are so thankful to be a part of this family.  This Sunday, our oldest moved to Calgary.  That is not easy…in God’s grace, Lori was able to travel with him, and I have TGC Canada board meetings, so it softens this blow a little, but it is still hard to see family move away.  Covet your prayers for us in this transition.  Family is given by God to show us, at its best, what His family should be like.

Family love is what the church is to have.  A love that comes from God, and is loyal to one another.  May we experience His love so richly that we love His bride, represented in the local church and live our lives for her beautification!  Our JST (Elders, Deacons, Leadership Staff) met together and discussed how we can be servant leaders and model and intentionally direct this family to greater impact.  Ken called this, MAD; MAKE A DIFFERENCE, and it is a privilege to be a part of a servant team like this one.  So, get MAD, and help us to impact this world for Jesus and build and beautify His bride at CBC.  Please continue to pray for your elders and deacons as they give love and leadership to CBC.

This week we celebrated Pentecost.  The coming of the Holy Spirit is actually better than the physical presence of Jesus, and gives us power to represent Him well (Acts 1:8; John 16:7).  We need His power to be free to obey Him, and live for His glory in the midst of a broken and difficult life.  He helps us to be HOLY, to know the TRUTH, and to LOVE one another.  May we live in the POWER OF THE SPIRIT, so that we can have joyful victorious lives that are MAD.

Join us Sunday night for our Elder Led prayer meeting.  This is a time that we corporately remain in the vine, and seek His glory and our good together!

Sunday Is Coming:

Series:  The End Is Near:  Prayer

Text:  1 Peter 4

  • What are some wrong ways that people have responded to the end being near?
  • Why should knowing the end is near drive us to prayer?
  • What is it that we can learn from 2 Peter that will prepare us to live healthy and dynamic Christian lives today?
  • What are some ways that your life shows that you believe that Jesus is a real PERSON, and that you know Him?
  • How does your life show that you believe the end is near?
  • What more can you do to display this reality in your life?

Privileged to be blessed with both my spiritual, and physical family,

Your brother and undershepherd,

Pastor Rob
