To God's Beloved @ Cloverdale Baptist Church:
It has been a great summer, well, it still is a great summer, but now we are starting to ramp up for the fall.
Family Camp at Sunnybrae went very well, thank you so much for your prayers!. It is a privilege to go and preach God's Word to families and rejoice as we see the Spirit of God at work. Remember to pray for our youth who are serving at Sunnybrae, they have an amazing privilege of introducing children to Jesus, and this comes with exhaustion and spiritual battle. We stand with them as a family as we pray for them! We actually can join those serving Jesus around the world (and in our church) in their struggle by praying for them, what an amazing privilege and when we get to glory we will discover how God has used us for His glory in these situations.
I have fallen in love again with the Beatitudes, and encourage their memorization and reading. This was my topic at Family Camp, and as is so often the case God spoke powerfully to my heart.
Many exciting things that are coming our way as we prepare for the fall...
#1: September 13 is our OFFICIAL opening. Invite friends and family as we praise God for what He has done! We will have a service focused on Christians in the morning, and then an open house in the afternoon, for our neighbours. Please also display the love of God as we praise Him. One of our goals is to be known for our love as a church family, and this is an opportunity for us to love those in our area.
#2: Sunday School Kick Off: Watch for more on this for every age, 1-100. Our official kick off for Sunday School is on September 20, as we grow bigger we want to make an effort to grow smaller, and being a part of a Sunday School class can certainly help in that! We will have three adult classes, and teach God's Word to children as well, so make this a priority. Sunday School will be from 9:10 - 10:10 followed by coffee in the Fellowship Hall and service at 10:30.
#3: Normal Programs: And we have a lot of them, PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION LEST YOU MISS OUT!
#4: Growth Groups: Choose to join a small group this year in prayer and in study. If you would like to be a part of a growth group, please contact the church office and we will seek to find a group where you can belong and grow. Again, we want to grow bigger and smaller, to see our church filled with people who are connected to smaller groups.
#5: We need volunteers...especially in children's ministries. If you have heart for Jesus and children, please see Pastor Stu and he will put you to work serving Jesus. We will needed added help for a growing ministry, perhaps God will use you to change the world one child at a time, even greater, eternity through your love and ministry.
And so much more!
Please keep praying, and seeking God's best with us. We are in exciting times, and this means huge opportunities for service, so please stay informed and look for the place that God wants you to serve Him with us! We need you to serve if this is your home church, in fact if we want to be healthy and you are not serving, both you and the church will be missing out!
Sunday is coming:
Sermon Title: How Great Is Our God: Omnipresent
Text: Jonah
Why is the Omnipresence of God an important doctrine?
How does Psalm 139:7-10 help us with this reality?
What changes would we make in our lives if we were always aware of His presence?
How does God's presence give us: Courage; Conviction & Comfort?
How can you be more aware of the presence of God, not only doctrinally, but practically?
Have a great week, looking forward to seeing you on Sunday for exalting God in song, love, prayer and the application of His Word!
A Fellow Joyful Servant,
Pastor Rob
